Job summary

Equinix is seeking an experienced Product Software Engineer to design and develop platform services for our software platform. You will build modular, scalable microservices, collaborate with product managers, and leverage AI-driven tooling to accelerate design, testing, and operations.

You will contribute to the technical strategy, emphasize API-first development, and work with customer, billing, pricing, and commerce domains to translate business needs into reliable, observable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience building robust services, preferably on a Java - based cloud development stack.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design and architectural patterns, and API design.
• Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working on cloud-based SaaS/PaaS products.
• Hands-on experience applying AI in software engineering - e.g., using generative AI for design, code, or operational insights.
• Experience working within the agile process and CI/CD frameworks.
• Ability to transition between programming languages and tool sets.
• Ability to effectively communicate new ideas and design tradeoffs.

Job Summary

The Product Software team at Equinix builds next-generation software products and architecture for our Equinix software platform and services offerings. We are looking for engineers responsible for developing consistent APIs with microservices, interacting with multiple consumers and abstracting complex Enterprise Application workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop platform services, and to collaborate with partner teams to understand their requirements and consumption patterns. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. You will work closely with product engineering, architects and product managers.

Responsibilities

Technical Participation

• Contribute to the technical strategy and execution for modular, event-driven, and scalable microservices supporting enterprise workflows


• Design and implement reusable frameworks and self-service modules for service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management


• Leverage AI tools to accelerate software design, testing, and operations - e.g., AI-assisted code reviews, test generation, and root cause analysis


• Collaborate with senior developers on design decisions across customer, billing, pricing, and commerce domains


• Promote design practices that improve maintainability, observability, and operational excellence

Engineering Excellence

• Build secure, reliable, and observable systems that meet performance and scalability goals


• Implement best practices for API-first development, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps


• Partner with product managers and peers to translate business intent into scalable technical solutions


• Contribute to automation and AI-driven monitoring that improves reliability and accelerates problem resolution
