Job Purpose
Credit Analyst - Checker plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of SME onboarding and credit assessments. This involves independently reviewing application processes by Makers, verifying the accuracy of data, assessments, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of credit risk and compliance.
Key Accountabilities
- Team Mentoring and Maker Development/Training: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Makers to improve their skills, knowledge, and adherence to procedures. This includes identifying training needs, conducting training sessions, and providing constructive feedback.
- TAT Adherence: Meet defined Turn Around Time (TAT) targets for Appraisal to Approval of logins
- Credit Assessment Verification: Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of credit assessments performed by Makers, ensuring alignment with established credit policies and risk.
- Compliance Checks: Conduct thorough compliance checks, ensuring adherence to internal policies, and product specifications. Identify and flag any potential compliance breaches.
- Quality Control: Identify and report any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in application processing, contributing to continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Documentation Review: Review supporting documentation for completeness and authenticity, ensuring all necessary information is present and accurately reflects the ABL login requirements.
- Escalation: Escalate complex or unusual cases to senior management for further review and decision-making.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on the quality of application processed and any identified issues.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to established credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements by identifying areas for enhanced efficiency and risk mitigation.

Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of experience in SME Credit Analysis, Credit Underwriting, Credit Operations, or SME Lending.
- Experience in reviewing credit proposals, financial analysis, and credit assessment of SME customers.
- Exposure to maker-checker processes, quality assurance, or credit approval controls is preferred.
- Experience in KYC, AML, regulatory compliance, and credit documentation review.
- Prior experience in mentoring, coaching, or training junior team members is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of SME lending products and credit underwriting principles.
- Strong knowledge of credit policies, lending guidelines, and internal approval frameworks.
- Understanding of RBI regulations, KYC, AML, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Education / Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
