Position: Senior Associate US Tax (1065/1040HNI)

Role Summary
We are looking for a US Tax Senior Associate to support US tax outsourcing services for CPA firms across the United States, with a primary focus on Partnership Tax. The role will involve preparation and review of US Federal and State Partnership Tax Returns, particularly Form 1065/1040HI, tax research, technical analysis, client interaction, quality review, and supporting the development of tax professionals. The ideal candidate should have strong US Partnership Tax knowledge, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tax engagements effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review US Tax Returns, including Form 1065/10HNI.
- Prepare US Federal and State Tax Returns.
- Review tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare straightforward Business Income Tax Returns.
- Review tax documents and apply changes in US tax rates, tax laws, and regulations.
- Transfer income, expenses, assets, and liabilities into tax return formats.
- Ensure Book-to-Tax Reconciliation is properly prepared and balanced.
- Identify technical issues in engagements and **escalate** them to the appropriate lead for resolution.
- Validate data and analysis for accuracy and relevance.
- Conduct tax research and utilize available technical resources to enhance US tax knowledge.
- Stay updated on technical developments, tax practices, and changes in tax laws.
- Perform self-review of deliverables before submission to the Assistant Manager.
- Ensure client KPIs are consistently met with respect to quality and budgets.
- Deliver tax services accurately and within applicable timelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide tax planning, consulting, and technical expertise.
- Review complex income tax returns and identify and mitigate tax risks.
- Support tax provision and tax compliance processes.
- Research potential tax regulations and participate in modelling different tax scenarios.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and technology implementation.
- Provide guidance and coaching to team members.
- Support team development and performance.
- Contribute to client growth and cross-selling opportunities, where applicable.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in US Federal Tax (Form 1065/1040HNI).
- Strong knowledge of US Partnership Tax.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field and US CPA or EA.
- Prior Big 4 experience or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing projects or clients, including scheduling, budgeting, and client correspondence.
- Strong technology and tax research skills.
- Ability to understand and apply US accounting principles, IRS regulations, GAAP, and US GAAP.
- Ability to manage multiple tax engagements and track their status through completion.
- Experience with CCH and UltraTax will be an added advantage.
