Senior Architect II – Back End

About this team:

The architecture group at lululemon is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of technical strategies that support every aspect of our rapidly scaling global business. You will work in a matrixed environment alongside peers in business, engineering, program, ux and strategy – among other disciplines – to collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions aligned to business goals and objectives. In addition to your primary team, project, or portfolio you will be supported by a diverse Architecture Community of Practice, which provides learning and governance resources to all architects and will help you build a strong and robust practice of leadership grounded in technical proficiency, innovative thinking and empathy.

Core Responsibilities:

• In partnership with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Product Owners, Engineers and other Architects, you provide leadership in defining project requirements and success criteria along with guiding the design throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate and present at architecture design reviews
• Proactively align with key stakeholders, seek organizational context and apply learnings to architecture solutions; be comfortable supporting and communicating with diverse technical and business teams
• Evaluate, document, and elevate alterations to future state architectures
• Communicates trade‑offs in different types of engineering and architecture processes and adjust your team’s process to meet the needs of the project and others on the team
• Contribute to the growth and strength of the architecture community of practice by actively attending and presenting at community events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science with 14+ years’ experience
• 5+ years of experience architecting and designing any cloud solutions (AWS/ Azure/ GCP/Oracle) including container services, serverless architecture, high availability and infrastructure.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, others).
• Experience with microservices and event/message‑driven distributed systems
• Exposure to containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is preferred
• Basic experience with monitoring and APM tools such as Datadog/Prometheus, Grafana/Splunk or others
• Relevant industry experience is preferred, with prior experience developing solutions for retail or eCommerce businesses.
• Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding engineering teams
• Ability to architect and integrate AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications, including predictive analytics, intelligent routing, and operational insights – good to have/highly preferred.
• Experience with MLOps tools and platforms (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI) for scalable model deployment.
• Ability to evaluate and select appropriate AI models and services (LLMs, classification, clustering, etc.) based on business needs.
• Knowledge of ethical AI principles, data governance, and responsible AI practices
