Job summary

Conqr AI is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI/ML delivery in a production environment. This remote role is based in India and focuses on turning research into scalable production systems.

You will train and optimize models including LLMs, build pipelines, implement MLOps, and collaborate with product, backend and frontend teams to embed AI into workflows. We value strong Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and hands-on deployment expertise across cloud and container platforms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience fine-tuning AI/ML models for production use cases.
• Understanding LLM model selection, dataset preparation, training, evaluation and optimisation.
• Strong Python skills with PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn.
• Deploying and maintaining fine-tuned models in production environments.
• Familiarity with LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT and similar parameter-efficient fine-tuning approaches.
• Experience with model evaluation, monitoring and performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) plus Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI and ML systems from experimentation through production rollout.
• Train, fine-tune and optimise models including LLMs and open-weight models.
• Build training, data-processing and inference pipelines.
• Improve model accuracy, latency, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Implement MLOps practices covering deployment, monitoring, CI/CD and automated retraining.
• Build evaluation frameworks, benchmark datasets and quality checks for production models.
• Design scalable APIs and services exposing AI capabilities to other systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Backend and Frontend teams to embed AI into customer workflows.
• Monitor production systems and continuously improve model and infrastructure performance.

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on experience fine-tuning AI or ML models for production use cases is required.
• Candidates should understand LLM model selection, dataset preparation, training, evaluation and optimisation.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn are expected.
• Applicants should have deployed and maintained fine-tuned models in production environments.
• Familiarity with LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT and other parameter-efficient fine-tuning approaches is required.
• Experience with model evaluation, monitoring and performance optimisation is expected.
• Candidates should have hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, along with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and MLOps practices.
• Strong understanding of APIs, distributed-system architecture, PostgreSQL and modern data infrastructure is required.
• Experience with RAG systems and vector databases is considered a strong plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are expected.
