Job summary

Oracle NetSuite is seeking a Senior Application Software Engineer in Hyderabad to design and deliver scalable enterprise capabilities. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with engineering, product, and UX teams, and apply AI-assisted development thoughtfully while maintaining security and reliability.

This hands-on role covers design through production support, with emphasis on code quality, testing, and performance. Strong Java/TypeScript skills and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java or a comparable object‑oriented language such as C# or Python.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills, including data modeling, transactions, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to design maintainable solutions and evaluate tradeoffs involving performance, reliability, complexity, and delivery effort.
• Experience with automated testing, version control, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Ability to use AI‑assisted development tools effectively, with critical review of output and security considerations.
• Clear communication and collaboration across functions, mentoring engineers.

• Contribute to technical decisions, explain tradeoffs, and identify opportunities to reduce technical debt.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

You’ll design and deliver reliable, scalable capabilities for enterprise customers, collaborate across engineering, product management, and help improve how the team develops and operates software.

This is a hands‑on role with ownership from understanding the business problem through design, implementation, testing, release, and production support. • Mentor engineers through constructive feedback, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Improve development workflows through automation and AI, assessing benefits through delivery effectiveness, quality, and maintainability.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including independently delivering features or substantial system improvements.
• Strong proficiency in Java or a comparable object‑oriented programming language, such as C# or Python.
• Solid understanding of software design, data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills, including data modeling, transactions, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to design maintainable solutions and evaluate tradeoffs involving performance, reliability, complexity, and delivery effort.
• Experience with automated testing, version control, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Ability to use AI‑assisted development tools effectively, or learn them quickly, while critically reviewing their output and following security and data‑handling requirements.
• Clear communication skills and experience collaborating across functions and mentoring engineers.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP, financial, or other enterprise business applications.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and SuiteScript.
• Experience building or supporting distributed systems and diagnosing production performance or reliability issues.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications using model APIs, retrieval, or tool integrations, including evaluating output quality and handling failures.
• Examples of improving engineering productivity or software quality through automation and AI‑assisted workflows.
