Job summary

TheCodingShef is seeking a Senior Android Developer in Bengaluru, 100% remote, full-time. You will own mobile development using Kotlin Multiplatform and native Android with Kotlin, mentor teammates, and drive AI-assisted coding practices.

You will tackle location and proximity features (GPS, BLE, UWB), optimize performance, and help shape engineering workflows around AI agents. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering and strong problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience delivering Android apps with Kotlin.
• Proficiency with Kotlin Multiplatform and shared code.
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose, coroutines, Flow.
• Experience with location tech (GPS, BLE, UWB) is a plus.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and work with AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve the Android app using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Design shared application logic and integrate it with platform-specific functionality.
• Implement location and proximity features involving GPS, BLE, UWB, and related device capabilities.
• Address practical mobile challenges such as permissions, background execution, battery consumption, connectivity, and device differences.
• Use AI coding assistants and agents to implement features, investigate defects, refactor code, and support testing.
• Set up and improve agentic development workflows, including task decomposition and review processes.
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, and security.
• Mentor junior team members and document important technical decisions.
