  • Manage inventory held at third‑party hub locations through regular reconciliation and tracking.
  • Create Sales Orders (SOs) and Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.
  • Monitor inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and maintain high accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory ageing and support initiatives to reduce ageing and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly Sales and Inventory reports for stakeholders.
  • Reconcile sub‑module balances against the trial balance and investigate variances.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Analyst - VMI based in India.

This role supports the effective management and accuracy of inventory held at third‑party hub locations through structured reconciliation, reporting, and financial controls. You will play an important part in maintaining reliable inventory records, reducing ageing, and ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time. The position combines accounting and finance expertise with hands‑on analytical work and regular coordination across teams. You will work with inventory, sales, procurement, and financial data to identify discrepancies and support operational decisions. Strong numerical ability and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining data integrity and financial accuracy. The role also offers an opportunity to strengthen your ERP, Excel, reporting, and accounting capabilities in a collaborative environment. Based in Chennai, you will contribute to day‑to‑day finance operations while supporting broader business and inventory management objectives.

Accountabilities:
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory held at third‑party hub locations remotely through regular reconciliation, monitoring, and tracking to maintain accurate and reliable records.
  • Sales and Procurement Transactions: Create Sales Orders (SOs) and Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and in line with established processes and requirements.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Monitor inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and take appropriate action to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Inventory Ageing: Analyze inventory levels and ageing trends and support initiatives designed to reduce ageing and improve inventory efficiency.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver weekly Sales and Inventory reports, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and presented clearly for relevant stakeholders.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile sub-module balances against the trial balance, investigate variances, and ensure financial records remain aligned.
  • Journal Processing: Process journal transactions in accordance with standard operating procedures and established accounting controls.
  • Accounting Support: Apply knowledge across areas such as General Ledger, Intercompany activities, Accounts Receivable, or Accounts Payable to support finance operations effectively.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving: Use strong analytical and numerical skills to identify issues, interpret financial and inventory data, and support accurate decision‑making.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, prepare effective presentations, and work collaboratively with colleagues and cross‑functional teams.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, such as B.Com, M.Com, BBA, or MBA.
  • Experience: Around 2 years of professional experience in accounting and finance, ideally with exposure to inventory, General Ledger, Intercompany, Accounts Receivable, or Accounts Payable activities.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and the ability to apply them accurately in day‑to‑day financial processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical ability, numerical aptitude, and confidence with detailed calculations and financial or inventory data.
  • Systems and Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email software, and ERP systems, with the ability to work efficiently with financial and operational data.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing assigned responsibilities independently.
  • Attention to Detail: A methodical and accurate approach to reconciliation, reporting, transaction processing, and record maintenance.
