Bengaluru, the city, which is India’s epicenter of Innovation, has been selected to be home to Takeda’s recently launched Innovation Capability Center. We invite you to join our digital transformation journey. In this role, you will have the opportunity to boost your skills and become the heart of an innovative engine that is contributing to global impact and improvement.

At Takeda’s ICC we Unite in Diversity

Takeda is committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative workplace, where individuals are recognized for their backgrounds and abilities they bring to our company. We are continuously improving our collaborators journey in Takeda, and we welcome applications from all qualified candidates. Here, you will feel welcomed, respected, and valued as an important contributor to our diverse team

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

We are seeking a strong Senior Analyst to join Takeda's GCC Commercial Analytics & Insights (CA&I) organization in India. This role carries significant individual analytical ownership across access analytics workstreams, bridging execution-level work with emerging stakeholder-facing responsibilities. The Senior Analyst is a critical analytical contributor who supports patient access, payer performance, reimbursement insights, and access-related business decisions.

  • Own and independently deliver a portfolio of mid-to-high complexity access analytics workstreams that inform US market access strategy, patient access optimization, reimbursement performance, and account-level commercial decisions.
  • Apply advanced proficiency in access and commercial datasets — including claims, specialty pharmacy, managed care, formulary, HUB/patient support, prescription, and reimbursement data — to generate decision-ready insights.
  • Design and execute payer and access performance analyses, reimbursement trend assessments, access pull-through measurement, account segmentation, and patient support program analytics. Own patient journey analytics spanning enrollment, benefits verification and prior authorization, copay and affordability, adherence, and patient support program performance.
  • Serve as an emerging analytical thought leader within the GCC team — contributing to access analytics methodology, reporting standards, and informal mentoring of Analyst colleagues.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Access Analytics and Insight Generation

  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned access analytics workstreams, producing reports and dashboards that track access performance, reimbursement dynamics, payer/account trends, and patient support program metrics.
  • Integrate and analyze diverse data sources — including claims, specialty pharmacy, managed care, formulary, prescription, HUB, and access/reimbursement datasets — to identify patient access barriers and commercial opportunities.
  • Analyze account buying patterns, formulary/access dynamics, access pull-through, and provider or account-level performance across relevant geographies, channels, and customer segments.
  • Lead custom access deep-dives and ad hoc analysis requests with independent hypothesis formulation, rigorous methodology, and well-documented, insight-rich outputs.

Patient Journey and Support Program Analytics

  • Analyze the end-to-end patient access journey - enrollment to first fill, time to therapy, referral-to-shipment cycle time, and abandonment - diagnosing where and why patients stall at each stage of the funnel.
  • Measure benefits verification, prior authorization, and appeals performance, including turnaround times, approval and denial rates, denial reason drivers, appeal overturn rates, and payer-level PA burden.
  • Assess copay and affordability dynamics - copay program utilization, patient out-of-pocket burden, buy-down and leakage, foundation and patient assistance program support, and accumulator/maximizer impact.
  • Evaluate persistency, adherence, discontinuation drivers, and restart behavior to quantify patient retention and identify intervention points across the treatment lifecycle.
  • Analyze specialty pharmacy and distribution channel performance, including triage and transfer patterns, dispense to ship cycle times and free goods - bridge, and QuickStart program utilization.
  • Evaluate patient support program effectiveness, including service-level impact on time to therapy and persistency, and performance oversight of HUB and vendor partners.

Reporting, Data Quality and Operational Excellence

  • Design and maintain Tableau or Power BI dashboards and reporting tools that clearly communicate access KPIs, payer and account segmentation, reimbursement trends, and patient access funnel performance.
  • Develop and maintain business rules, quality checks, and documentation for access-related datasets, ensuring consistency in metric definitions, source logic, and refresh routines.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate and scale recurring access reporting workflows using SQL, Python, or Databricks, improving reliability and reducing manual effort.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with GCC Managers and US Market Access, Patient Services, Field Access , Access Strategy, Commercial Analytics, and Brand stakeholders to clarify business questions and analytical requirements.
  • Synthesize findings from multiple access and commercial data sources into cohesive, decision-oriented narratives with clear implications for payer strategy, account planning, and patient access improvement.
  • Provide informal mentoring and quality guidance to Analyst colleagues, reviewing outputs, explaining access data considerations, and supporting consistent analytical standards.
  • Contribute to team knowledge management by documenting access data source guides, KPI definitions, analytical methods, and reusable query libraries.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • Master's degree or MBA in a relevant analytical, healthcare, or business field is strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience in US pharmaceutical commercial analytics, market access analytics, healthcare analytics, or related analytics roles, with demonstrated independent ownership of deliverables.
  • Deep working knowledge of access and commercial datasets, including claims, specialty pharmacy, managed care, formulary, HUB/patient support, prescription, and reimbursement data. Working knowledge of copay adjudication, benefits verification, prior authorization, and patient support case management data is required.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency; working knowledge of Python or R for analytical scripting and workflow automation.
  • Strong experience with Tableau or Power BI for access performance dashboards, KPI reporting, and business-facing visualization.
  • Exposure to Databricks or cloud-based analytics platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting US Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial Analytics, or Brand teams is strongly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with patient‑level access data sources - HUB/case management, copay adjudication, specialty pharmacy dispense and status feeds, and patient‑level longitudinal claims.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Access Data Analysis — Independently designs and executes analyses using payer, account, reimbursement, and patient access datasets; interprets findings with strong domain context.
  • Payer and Account Insights — Translates access trends, formulary dynamics, and account behavior into actionable recommendations for market access and commercial stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency — Advanced SQL; working Python/R; Tableau/Power BI; growing fluency in Databricks or cloud platforms.
  • Data Storytelling — Synthesizes access and commercial findings into clear narratives with explicit business implications and practical recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Communication — Communicates analytical findings effectively to Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial Analytics, and Brand partners.
  • Automation and Efficiency — Proactively identifies and implements workflow improvements using code, pipelines, or process redesign.
  • Informal Mentorship — Provides practical guidance to junior analysts on access data interpretation, analytical techniques, and quality standards.
  • Patient Journey Analytics - Analyzes the patient access funnel end to end, including enrollment to first-fill conversion, time to therapy, benefits verification and prior authorization outcomes, abandonment, and persistency.
