Job summary

Trane Technologies, Bangalore, India, seeks an Expense Accountant to help establish the expense accounting team in the India Shared Service Center and support migration of processes across regions. The role will cover payroll, prepayments and various cost centers within a global framework.

Reporting to the Accounting Leader, you will implement standard processes, monitor KPIs, and partner with the global teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; CPA or CA certification required.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including 2 in global SSC.
• Knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools; PeopleSoft a plus.

**Where is the work:**

The Expense Accountant will report to the Accounting Leader, Expense and will play an important role in supporting the establishment of and being a key team member of the Expense Accounting team at the India Shared Services Center based in Bangalore, India. The expense accountant will support the migration of expense accounting activities throughout EMEA and North America to the India Shared Service Center. Upon completion, the Bangalore location will be the global hub of a network of service centers that operate under generally standard processes and procedures and utilize Oracle's ERP software solution. The position will require process expertise related to shared service center operations. The expense accountant will be part of a team of professional accountants performing accounting services in the areas of: + Payroll & incentives accounting. + Prepayments & corporate accruals + Professional & IT costs + Advertising & marketing costs + Facility costs + Goods received not invoiced accruals + Corporate regional and BU allocations The position will require extensive business partnering with our business units and effective communication across functions and finance management and global operations.

**Responsibilities:**

• The expense accountant will be responsible for providing accounting services including continuous improvement of processes and internal controls as well as contributing to the overall vision for Company's shared services evolution.
• Supporting the Accounting Leader, Expense in the establishment of the expense accounting team in the India Shared Service Center including implementation of standard business processes and governance for identified processes in-scope as documented in our finance blueprint.
• Deliver successful transition of expense accounting finance processes from the local finance teams in the United States and Ireland (and other locations as required) to the India Shared Service Center.
• Ensure performance to targeted Global Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with delivery of desired service level to the business.
• Integrate expense accounting finance processes of new acquisitions into the India Shared Service Center.
• Work closely with teams across the shared services organization and in the business lines to identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies (including the ERP IT team).

**Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with a CPA or Chartered Accountant certification or other similar qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of experience in global shared service center environment.
• Knowledge of financial systems skills and reporting tools (experience with PeopleSoft a plus).
