Roche India invites a Senior Analyst in Data Strategy & Acquisition to build deep expertise in external healthcare data and support commercial and strategic needs. You will work with US stakeholders and vendors to evaluate datasets, understand methodologies, and translate business questions into data requirements.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build deep expertise in the external healthcare data ecosystem and contribute to decisions that shape how Roche uses data to support commercial and strategic business needs in the U.S. market. You will be exposed to a broad range of U.S. healthcare and pharmaceutical data sources, including payer, market access, sales, claims, alerts, field, competitive intelligence, and market intelligence datasets. You will learn how these datasets are created, how they differ from one another, where they are strong, where they have limitations, and how they can be applied to real business questions. You will work closely with U.S. stakeholders, external data vendors, and cross-functional Roche teams. The role provides a strong platform to develop skills in data strategy, vendor evaluation, stakeholder consultation, business problem‑solving, and structured communication. This opportunity is well suited for candidates with a life sciences, pharma, healthcare analytics, consulting, market research, business research, or commercial analytics background who are interested in moving into a broader data strategy and acquisition role. The role will allow you to develop the ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, assess business fit, and support informed data‑related decisions.
You holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Healthcare, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences consulting, healthcare analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, business research, commercial analytics, or related domain. You bring a strong foundation in life sciences, pharma, healthcare, or a related field, with the ability to understand business questions and connect them to appropriate data sources, methodologies, and decision‑making needs. You demonstrate structured thinking, sound reasoning, and the ability to engage with stakeholders in a consultative manner. You are able to assess information objectively, ask relevant questions, identify gaps or risks, and communicate findings clearly. You are comfortable working in a cross‑functional environment with U.S. stakeholders and external vendors, and you are motivated to build expertise in healthcare data strategy, external data evaluation, and commercial data acquisition. Strong understanding of life sciences, pharma, healthcare, or the broader pharmaceutical industry is required. Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare ecosystem, drug development process, commercial landscape, or market access environment is strongly preferred. Prior exposure to U.S. healthcare, pharmaceutical commercial data, payer data, claims data, sales data, field data, alerts, market intelligence, or competitive intelligence is an advantage. Experience working in consulting, business research, market research, analytics, or cross‑functional project environments would be valuable. Skills & Capabilities:Must have: Strong foundation in biology, life sciences, pharma, healthcare, or the pharmaceutical industry Ability to understand business questions and translate them into clear data needs, evaluation criteria, or actionable next steps Strong analytical reasoning and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail Ability to ask strategic questions, challenge assumptions, and provide constructive pushback where appropriate Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially while working with U.S. business stakeholders Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones with U.S‑based teams Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.Preferred / Good‑to‑Have: Exposure to external healthcare data vendors or platforms such as MMIT, DRG Fingertip, IQVIA, Komodo Health, Evaluate, Citeline, Spherix Global Insights, Dedham Group, NCCN, or similar sources. Familiarity with payer intelligence, sales, claims, real‑world data, field intelligence, market access, competitive intelligence, or market intelligence datasets. Basic understanding of data quality concepts, dataset profiling, data validation, or data comparison. Familiarity with SQL or willingness to learn SQL for basic data extraction, validation, and investigation. Exposure to visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, or similar platforms. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries, recommendations, and "so what?" insights for stakeholders. Mindset: Consultative and structured in approach. Curious about the healthcare and pharmaceutical data ecosystem. Comfortable working across business, data, vendor, and stakeholder discussions. Able to understand the "why" behind stakeholder requests. Proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Open to learning new data sources, methodologies, tools, and business areas. Comfortable working with evolving priorities in a U.S. stakeholder‑facing environment.
