Job summary

Principal Global Services in Pune is seeking an experienced accounting analyst to join the team involved in accounting for insurance products and services. The role requires independence, strong analytical ability, and proficiency in financial reporting.

You will handle general ledger, reconciliations, and issue resolution while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration with finance and IT. Shift is 2nd shift IST; the role offers growth in a global environment.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in finance and accounting, offshore/shared services preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in commerce or CA/ICWA Intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, including journal entries.
• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate actionable insights to leaders.
• Resolve operational issues within agreed timelines and service levels.
• Strengthen accounting processes through controls, standardization, and improvement.
• Support migrations and transitions while ensuring quality and continuity.
• Collaborate with business, finance and IT; participate in stakeholder reviews.

Responsibilities

This is role part of the team involved in accounting for insurance products and services provided by Principal Financial group.

We are looking for accounting analyst resource who can work independently, has analytical skills, can trouble shoot/research/resolve issues. Someone with accounting, analytical, reporting and technical skills.

Process oriented mindset and experience in implementing process improvements. Anticipate this person will become familiar with all processes and use that knowledge to implement efficiencies.

Shift: 2nd Shift (01:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST)

Key Responsibilities

• Performing, analyzing, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, exception analysis, and issue resolution, accounting entries, including transaction recording, journal entries.
• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate actionable insights to leaders and stakeholders.
• Resolve operational issues and deliver work within agreed timelines and service levels.
• Strengthen accounting processes through effective controls, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Support process migrations and transitions while maintaining quality, compliance, and business continuity.
• Collaborate with business, finance, and IT teams, participate in stakeholder reviews.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in an offshore or shared services environment.
• Minimum qualification: bachelor’s or master’s degree in commerce, or completion of the CA/ICWA Intermediate level.
