Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Analyst to act as a Data Reporting and Analytics Developer. You will design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions using Qlik Sense and Power BI, translating business needs into robust data models on Snowflake.

This is an Individual contributor role in the Alexion Commercial Reporting team. You will collaborate with business partners to define KPIs, validate data, and optimize reporting performance, while documenting data flows

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional data analytics experience.
• Strong SQL, Snowflake and data warehousing expertise.
• Experience with Qlik Sense or Power BI dashboards.
• Ability to translate business rules into data models.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Senior Analyst

Role: Individual contributor role.

Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore.

As a Data Reporting and Analytics Developer, you'll be at the forefront of driving informed decision-making and strategic initiatives within the Alexion Commercial Reporting team. Your expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining data reporting solutions and analytics platforms will empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. Ideal for candidates with strong data analysis skills, proficiency in data visualization tools, database management experience, and superb communication skills.

Accountabilities

• Support the Alexion Commercial Reporting team by designing, developing, validating, and maintaining Qlik Sense/Power BI dashboards and supporting data models and reporting layer development for various business units and indications.
• Understand business objectives, data sources, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to design effective solutions.
• Collaborate with business collaborators to gather, interpret, and document business rules and logic requirements for reporting use cases.
• Design and implement logical and physical data models in Snowflake that embody the agreed business rules and facilitate easy reporting.
• Create and manage SQL-based tables and views to serve as the reporting layer for Power BI/Qlik dashboards and reports.
• Monitor and tune the performance of Snowflake queries, tables, and views to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting.
• Carry out data validation, testing, and post-production checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness across the reporting platform.
• Bridge the gap between business customers and technical developers, encouraging clear communication on data requirements and logic implementation.
• Provide timely responses to ad-hoc business queries and investigative requests.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on data models, business rule mappings, and reporting logic.
• Proactively find opportunities to enhance data processes, optimize models, and improve reporting efficiency.

Essential Skills/Experience

• 8+ years of professional experience. Advanced understanding/experience with SQL, Snowflake, and Veeva CRM.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, SQL, and data warehousing in a reporting environment.
• Ability to create new rules and adjust existing rules in table/view creations.
• Work on creating ER diagrams and Logical data models.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration concepts.
• Proven expertise in translating business requirements into technical specifications and robust data models.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive user documentation for data processes, SQL queries, and data-related workflows.
• Expertise in SQL scripting, data modelling concepts, including related skills in:
• Data warehouse
• Data architecture
• Data visualization
• Security & compliances
• Recent project experience with Qlik/PBI + experience with other BI tools.
• Experience in documenting data processes, data lineage, and reporting frameworks.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• 6-8 years of experience in developing Data models and Architect schemas.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration workflows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and multi-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Snowflake Certified Data Architect
