Job summary

emagine is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to lead development of cutting-edge AI solutions as part of a newly formed startup team, driving innovation and integrating AI into products to enhance efficiency and user experience.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers, apply Generative AI, ML, and NLP, design scalable platform components, mentor peers in code reviews, and stay current with AI and cloud trends.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proven track record in AI product development.
• Expertise in Python; knowledge of Java, Scala, C#.
• Familiarity with microservices and GraphQL.
• Experience with DevOps (ADO pipelines, Docker) and model deployment (MLOps, LLMOps, AIOps).
• Knowledge of JSON schema and Avro.
• Experience with Apache Airflow and Microsoft Fabric Data Factory pipelines.
• Strong understanding of GenAI/AI/ML concepts (flow, evaluation, training, scoring, prompting, guardrails, RAG).
• Experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience in Agile SCRUM.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding practices.
• Knowledge of distributed architectures, Akka, NLP projects, software patterns.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Trello.

Summary

The Senior AI Software Engineer role positions an individual to lead the development of cutting-edge AI solutions as part of a newly created startup team. This role is crucial for innovating and integrating AI technologies into products, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and user experience.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build best-in-class AI-enabled features for our products.
• AI Integration: Implement and integrate AI technologies, such as Generative AI, machine learning models, or NLP, to enhance platform capabilities and improve user experiences.
• Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI platform features to enable feature teams, ensuring compatibility with other services and APIs.
• Rapid Problem-Solving: Quickly fix bugs and solve problems related to AI performance, model integration, or data pipeline issues, enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving AI development processes, ensuring AI components are scalable, efficient, and maintainable.
• Provide hands-on coaching, technical guidance, and structured feedback through code reviews, design sessions, and pair working.
• Stay Current: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and cloud services.

Key Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proven track record of working in AI products development.
• Expertise in Python; valuable knowledge in Java, Scala, C#.
• Familiarity with microservices; valuable knowledge of GraphQL.
• Knowledge in DevOps practices like ADO pipelines and Docker; experience deploying models (MLOps, LLMOps, AIOps).
• Understanding of data management & data structures such as JSON schema, Avro.
• Experience with workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow and Microsoft Fabric Data Factory pipelines.
• Strong understanding of GenAI/AI/ML technologies with concepts like AI flow, evaluation, training, scoring, prompting, guardrails, and RAG.
• Experience with cloud providers such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience in Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding practices.
• Valuable knowledge of distributed architectures, Akka concepts, NLP projects, and software patterns.
• Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
• Strong organizational & time management skills.
• Cloud certifications are a plus.
