Job summary

Hitachi Vantara in Pune seeks an experienced Inventory & Intercompany Accountant to join our Finance team. You will manage inventory valuation, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close.

The role requires CA/CMA qualifications, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with SAP/Oracle, US GAAP/IFRS, and internal controls. You’ll collaborate with global finance teams and support audits.

Qualifications

• CA or CMA qualification is mandatory.
• Experience in inventory and intercompany accounting with close attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with SAP/Oracle ERP systems and global accounting standards.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Inventory & Intercompany Accountant to join our Finance team in Pune. The role will be responsible for inventory accounting, intercompany accounting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory accounting , including inventory valuation, reconciliation, provisions, and adjustments.
• Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations , journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Investigate and resolve inventory and intercompany mismatches/differences.
• Support intercompany confirmations, settlements, and balance clearing.
• Ensure transactions comply with US GAAP/IFRS and company accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, documentation, and explanations.
• Identify process gaps and support process improvements and automation.
• Work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Tax, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX/JSOX requirements.

What you’ll bring - Required Skills & Experience

• 5–9 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a global organization.
• CA / CMA qualifications are mandatory.
• Strong experience in Inventory Accounting and Intercompany Accounting.
• Good understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle is preferred.
• Good understanding of US GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with global/multi-location finance teams is an advantage.
