Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage risk controls, reporting, and internal control processes within our finance team in India.

You will handle month-end close, IFRS-related work, and coordination with audits, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and compliance with global standards. The role requires 5-7 years of accounting and reporting experience, proficiency in SAP/OS, and strong Excel skills, with emphasis on internal controls and financial analysis.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience in accounting and reporting.
• Experience with controlling and IFRS is an advantage.
• Experience creating and documenting SOPs and ensuring control follow-up and compliance.
• Experience in a global company and high transaction volume management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports.
• Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.

Job description

As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in our success by being responsible for risk and control of environment, reporting and developing internal control processes. You will have the opportunity to have exposure to global accounting processes, Audit, IFRS and guidelines.

• Preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.
• Balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Support for internal and external audits.
• Tax recording and validation.
• Month-end close process: monthly accruals. Bank Reconciliation, ICP Reconciliation, IFRS16 Calculation and follow-up.
• Control follow-up and compliance management.
• Fixed asset & Inventory Management.
• Prepayments Management.
• Ensuring that all the General Ledger accounting and Financial / Management Reporting is done in accordance with IFRS and APMM GAP.
• Additional functions may be required according to business area needs.

Required Experience

• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of local and international financial regulations, financial analysis, and the audit process.
• Years of Experience: 5-7 years’ experience with accounting and reporting.
• Experience in control framework and IFRS (added advantage).
• Experienced in creating and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring control follow-up and compliance.
• Experienced in global company and transaction volume management.
• Software: Advanced Excel. Systems like SAP and OS would be preferred
