Job summary

Priceline in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team, overseeing intercompany close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations across Booking Holdings brands.

The role partners with global accounting teams, ensures US GAAP compliance, and supports process improvements and automation initiatives, including BlackLine, Oracle, and OneStream.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly intercompany close process for assigned entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and elimination support.

• Maintain internal controls and identify process enhancements.

Senior Accountant

As a key member of Priceline’s General Ledger Accounting team, this Senior Accountant will ensure the accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations while owning core intercompany accounting activities across Booking Holdings brands, including monthly recording, reconciliation, settlement, reporting, and eliminations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting judgment, experience handling intercompany accounting across multiple entities and currencies, and disciplined close execution. They will also have the communication skills and business acumen to partner effectively with teams across Priceline and Booking Holdings, safeguard internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve and automate processes.

In this role you will get to:

• Own the monthly intercompany close process for assigned entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, confirmations, settlement, reporting, and elimination support.

• Partner with accounting teams across all Booking Holdings’ brands to ensure intercompany elimination activities are completed accurately and in accordance with the monthly close timeline.

• Exhibit a detailed understanding of all intercompany relationships, including but not limited to revenue share and cost-plus arrangements.

• Maintain and monitor that internal controls are effectively operating for assigned tasks and identify enhancements where gaps are identified.

• Ensure intercompany activity is recorded in accordance with US GAAP, internal accounting policies, and the applicable intercompany agreements.

• Support implementation and ongoing optimization of the BlackLine Intercompany module, including testing, process documentation, controls, and issue resolution.

• Prepare monthly journal entries primarily for intercompany transactions, along with other related tasks

• Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve reconciling items, intercompany breaks, aged balances, and timing differences on a timely basis.

• Prepare and analyze monthly and yearly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet accounts, identifying key drivers of fluctuations.

• Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables.

• Contribute to and support special projects in order to create a more efficient and controlled environment (e.g. automation, AI-enabled solutions, ERP implementation, process improvements etc.)

Who you are:

• Experience with Oracle, BlackLine and OneStream desired

• 4+ years of accounting experience, including meaningful experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations, or multinational close processes; experience with a U.S. multinational company or Big 4 accounting firm preferred.

• Qualified Chartered Accountant preferred.

• Advanced Excel skills required

• Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve issues.

• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and sound judgment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.

• Ability to use data, reporting tools, and automation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of recurring accounting activities.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
