Job summary

Secpod Technologies in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is seeking a Security Research Engineer to join our security R&D team. The role focuses on researching the latest vulnerabilities, developing security content, and identifying mitigation strategies.

You should have a degree in Engineering and a genuine passion for information security. Freshers (0–1 year) are welcome; exposure to SCAP standards or security tooling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge.
• Strong interest in information security and security content development.
• Familiarity with SCAP standards or security tooling is a plus but not mandatory.
• Fresh graduates with 0–1 year in information security acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Research and development of vulnerability detection scripts for the latest security vulnerabilities; identifying fixes or mitigations.
• Create remediation scripts (bash, shell or PowerShell).
• Perform peer testing and QA for developed content.
• Automate repetitive tasks using Python or other scripting language.
• Write technical blogs/articles on the latest security trends, vulnerabilities and exploits.
• Develop security tools.

• Security Research Engineer will join the security research and development team.
• The role would involve performing research on the latest vulnerabilities, developing security content, and identifying ways to fix or mitigate the identified security vulnerabilities.
• A primary expectation would be a genuine interest in the field of Information Security, Research Development for Security Content.
• Prior exposure to SCAP standards, security tool development, participation in the community, or projects related to security would be considered as an added advantage but not mandatory

• Good communication skills, Verbal Written (English)
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to stay abreast with the ever-evolving security technologies
• An eye for details and is challenge-driven
• Fresher, 0-1 years of experience in Information Security Research for Enterprise Security software products
