Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer to grow our cybersecurity business by building trusted advisor relationships with customers and security leaders. You will lead technical engagements, prototype integrations, and provide guidance on secure implementations and compliance in cloud environments.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a tech field.
• 10 years of cybersecurity experience with focus on application security, secure SDLC, and vulnerability management in cloud-native or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer objections, and resolve technical blockers.
• Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
• Recommend integration strategies, architectures, platforms, and infrastructure for Google Cloud solutions.
• Share security experience to support technical relationships with customers, including briefings and PoC work; partner with product management to prioritize solutions.
• Support customer-facing presentations and conduct security workshops as a subject matter expert.

Job description

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on application security, secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices, and vulnerability management, particularly within cloud-native or hybrid environments.
• Experience with cloud and software development.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
• Experience with AI-powered security tools for automated vulnerability detection, exploit generation, and code fix remediation.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role, delivering product and solution briefings, partnering with security leaders and technical teams, and optimizing for production results.
• Understanding of the impact of AI on both offensive and defensive security strategies, including how AI can be leveraged to exploit binaries and firmware as source code.
• Familiarity with platforms for deploying and managing security agents or AI models for security applications, particularly in code analysis and remediation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
• Work directly with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to complete solutions using best practices on Google Cloud.
• Share security experience to support the technical relationship with customers, including product and solution briefings and proof-of-concept work, partnering with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer engagement with Google Cloud.
• Support customer-facing presentations and conduct workshops to share the experience and be a subject matter expert on cyber security.
