Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Security Analyst to monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to security events across infrastructure, cloud, and product environments. You will join the Security Operations team, supporting vulnerability management and continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities while collaborating with IT, Cloud, and Product Engineering teams.

The role emphasizes incident response, triage, documentation, and ongoing improvement of security controls.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in Cybersecurity, Security Operations, or IT Security.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, XDR, or security monitoring tools.
• Understanding SOC processes and security monitoring practices.
• Knowledge of incident response processes and risk lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security events from SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud platforms.
• Investigate alerts, identify threats, and triage security incidents.
• Support incident response including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Document incidents, actions taken, and remediation activities.
• Perform log analysis, alert validation, and data quality checks.

Job description

We are looking for a Security Analyst to support cybersecurity operations by monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security events across infrastructure, cloud, and product environments. As part of the Security Operations (Blue Team), you will play a key role in security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities while collaborating with IT, Cloud, and Product Engineering teams.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor and analyze security events from SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud security platforms
• Investigate security alerts and identify potential threats, suspicious activities, and security incidents.
• Perform initial triage, classification, and escalation of security events
• Support incident response activities including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
• Execute incident response procedures and security playbooks.
• Document incidents, findings, actions taken, and remediation activities.
• Support vulnerability scanning activities across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Track remediation activities and validate vulnerability fixes.
• Contribute to vulnerability reporting and risk assessment activities.
• Operate, maintain, and support security tools including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, and monitoring platforms.
• Perform log analysis, alert validation, and data quality checks.
• Assist in detection rule tuning and enhancement under guidance from senior team members.
• Maintain accurate security documentation, operational procedures, and security playbooks.
• Collaborate with Senior Security Analysts, IT teams, Cloud teams, and Product teams to resolve security issues.
• Participate in security reviews, investigations, threat monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and cybersecurity best practices.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 2 to 4+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Security Operations, or IT Security.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, XDR, or security monitoring tools.
• Good understanding of Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and security monitoring practices.
• Knowledge of incident response processes, workflows, and security event lifecycle management.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and security controls.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems from a security perspective.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud security concepts.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze logs, identify anomalies, and assess potential security threats.
• Good documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Understanding of threat detection, malware analysis concepts, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
• Exposure to cloud security services within AWS and Azure environments.
• Basic scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Understanding of common cyberattack techniques, threat actors, and vulnerability exploitation methods.
• Entrylevel security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or equivalent are preferred.
