Job summary

ADP is seeking a Security Engineer focused on AI and application protection to design and build protective security capabilities for Generative AI, agentic applications, and modern environments.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of production software experience, strong DevSecOps fundamentals, and demonstrated AI security expertise, ready to mature security methodologies while collaborating with development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as computer science, computer engineering, or information technology
• 7+ years of experience developing production software
• Hands-on experience developing with Generative AI, including LLM APIs, agentic systems, RAG, tool use, or similar AI application patterns
• Demonstrated understanding of AI risks such as prompt injection, unsafe model behavior, sensitive-data exposure, and tool/agent abuse
• Experience with application security or AI security
• Strong DevSecOps fundamentals and systems understanding

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production security software and services supporting AI and application protections
• Develop and tune LLM guardrails, scanners, detection logic, policies, and evaluation mechanisms
• Build security capabilities for agentic applications, tools, integrations, and developer ecosystems
• Evaluate emerging agentic and AI risks and develop practical engineering approaches to reduce those risks
• Build automation that turns recurring security work into scalable capabilities
• Contribute technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and hands-on problem solving

Role: Security Engineer – AI & Application Protection

Experience: 7+Years

ADP is hiring an experienced agentic full stack developer who is security inclined (previous security champion experience)

In this role, you will design and build protective security capabilities for Generative AI, agentic applications, and modern application environments. You will have opportunities to prototype and develop new security approaches where established patterns may not yet exist and scale existing systems to support adoption. You will write production code, build integrations and automation, develop and tune AI security controls, work directly with development teams, and help mature promising ideas into scalable enterprise capabilities.

You will join a highly capable DevSecOps team responsible for scaling protective capabilities and their policies for ADP's GenAI Guardrails and Web Application Firewall controls. You may also contribute significantly to agentic development security, agentic-based vulnerability detection, and other emerging greenfield initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as computer science, computer engineering, or information technology
• 7+ years of experience developing production software
• Hands-on experience developing with Generative AI, including LLM APIs, agentic systems, RAG, tool use, or similar AI application patterns
• Demonstrated understanding of AI risks such as prompt injection, unsafe model behavior, sensitive-data exposure, and tool/agent abuse
• Experience with application security or AI security
• Strong DevSecOps fundamentals and systems understanding

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experience with APIs, web technologies, and modern application architectures
• Experience with SQL and data processing or transformation
• Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins or equivalent
• Experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized services
• Experience with observability, telemetry, troubleshooting, and production systems is valuable

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production security software and services supporting AI and application protections
• Develop and tune LLM guardrails, scanners, detection logic, policies, and evaluation mechanisms
• Build security capabilities for agentic applications, tools, integrations, and developer ecosystems
• Evaluate emerging agentic and AI risks and develop practical engineering approaches to reduce those risks
• Build automation that turns recurring security work into scalable capabilities
