Hiya Digital Private Limited is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Intern to join our digital marketing team in Mumbai. This is a paid, hands-on internship designed for candidates who want to build practical experience in SEO and digital marketing.
As an SEO Intern, you will work on real websites and SEO projects under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will gain practical exposure to keyword research, on-page SEO, technical SEO, content optimization, competitor analysis, search performance monitoring, and most importantly, link building and backlink acquisition.
The ideal candidate should be curious, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and comfortable working with spreadsheets, SEO tools, website content, and repetitive but important SEO tasks.
- Conduct keyword research to identify relevant search terms and SEO opportunities.
- Analyze search volume, keyword competition, relevance, and search intent.
- Assist in creating keyword lists and keyword mapping for website pages.
- Research competitor keywords and identify content opportunities.
- Assist in optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, images, and internal links.
- Help ensure appropriate HTML heading structures are used across website pages.
- Optimize website content based on target keywords and search intent.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing website content.
- Assist with internal linking and basic content optimization activities.
Hands-on link-building is an important part of this internship. The candidate should be willing to learn and perform practical backlink-building activities as part of day-to-day SEO work.
- Research relevant websites and identify potential backlink opportunities.
- Build and maintain lists of backlink prospects.
- Assist with manual outreach to relevant websites, publishers, bloggers, and website owners.
- Support guest-posting and other legitimate link-building campaigns.

- Assist with basic technical SEO audits and website checks.
- Identify broken links, missing metadata, duplicate content, and other basic SEO issues.
- Assist in checking XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, and indexation-related issues.
- Work with senior SEO team members to document and track technical SEO issues.
- Assist content writers with SEO-focused content briefs and keyword recommendations.
- Review content for keyword usage, headings, internal links, and basic on-page SEO requirements.
- Research topics, competitors, and SERPs to support content creation.
- Assist with updating and optimizing existing content.
- Analyze competitor websites and their SEO strategies.
- Research Google search results to understand ranking pages and search intent.
- Identify competitor content, keyword, and backlink opportunities.
- Track changes in search results and identify potential SEO opportunities.
