Job summary

Auriga IT is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE-III) in Gurugram to design, build, and own complex backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture for distributed modules, and champion best practices across the team.

You will collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend services, while improving performance, reliability, and security in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience with Java 8+
• Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17) and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
• Experience with multi-threading, collections and concurrent APIs
• Web services/APIs (REST, SOAP) experience
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Automated unit tests (JUnit, Mockito)
• Experience with data platforms (relational/NoSQL) and messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS)
• Familiarity with logging/monitoring observability tools

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Auriga is looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE-III) with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, system design, and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and owning complex backend systems, mentoring team members, and contributing to technical decision-making across the engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with business users to gather functional and non-functional requirements
• Combine your technical expertise and problem-solving passion to turn complex problems into end-to-end solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead end-to-end architecture and implementation for complex modules and distributed systems.
• Drive best engineering practices (code reviews, design reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, observability).
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
• Unit Testing/Integration Testing
• Code Configuration and Release Management.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Break down complex business requirements into technical designs and actionable tasks.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide them through technical challenges.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the existing tech stack
• Document technical design as well as other technical documents based on the project's compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 Years of hands-on experience in backend development, Web Application and API development in Java 8 and above
• Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17) and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
• Experience with Multi-threading, Collections, and concurrent API
• Working experience with web-services and APIs (REST, SOAP)
• Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, and Event-driven systems..
• Experience writing high-quality code with fully automated unit test coverage (Junit, Mockito, etc.)
• Experience defining and applying design/coding standards, patterns, and quality metrics depending on the solution
• Working experience with data platforms (relational and/or NoSQL) and messaging technologies(Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.)
• Excellent OOPs, data structure, and algorithm knowledge
• Understanding & experience in API management, Swagger
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, observability tools (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Working experience with LINUX/UNIX environment and shell scripts
• Strong collaborator and comfortable to work in an agile, remote and distributed team environment
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience in one or more front-end development technologies
• Working experience with various CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and build tools (ant, maven, gradle, etc.).
• Working experience creating high performing applications, including profiling and tuning to improve performance
• Knowledge of public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of one or more security or integration framework (PING, Octa)
• Exposure to Reactive Programming (WebFlux, RxJava).
• Knowledge of containerization
• Experience with API Gateway, Service Mesh, and distributed tracing.
• Knowledge of security best practices
• Experience with performance tuning and high-throughput systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects or strong technical writing ability.
