The opportunity
We’re looking for Senior Level Consultants with expertise in Data Modelling, Data Integration, Data Manipulation and analysis to join the Supply Chain Technology group of our GDS consulting Team. This is a unique chance to help grow a new service offering.
Your Key Responsibilities
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in BI/Data integration/ETL/DWH solutions in cloud and on‑premises platforms such as Informatica, PC/IICS, Alteryx, Talend, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and experience with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE, etc.
- Performing data analysis and data manipulation as per client requirements.
- Expertise in data modelling to simplify business concepts.
- Create extensive ER diagrams to support business decision making.
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using data integration technologies on large, heterogeneous datasets.
- Develop sophisticated workflows and macros (Batch, Iterative, etc.) in Alteryx with enterprise data.
- Design and develop ETL workflows and datasets in Alteryx for BI reporting tools.
- Perform end‑to‑end data validation to maintain accuracy of data sets.
- Support client needs by developing SSIS packages in Visual Studio (version 2012 or higher) or Azure Data Factory.
- Integrate third‑party applications as required.
- Pull data from a variety of sources using appropriate connection managers.
- Develop, customize, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages as per client business requirements.
- Design dynamic SSIS packages in Visual Studio, covering file handling, error handling, archiving, configuration creation, and deployment.
- Work with clients throughout various parts of the implementation lifecycle.
- Have a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and a readiness to learn new technologies for client requirements.
- Analyze and translate business needs into long‑term solution data models.
- Evaluate existing data warehouses or systems.
- Possess strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
Skills And Attributes For Success
- Deliver large/medium DWH programmes, demonstrating expert core consulting skills and advanced level knowledge of Informatica, SQL, PL/SQL, Alteryx, ADF, SSIS, Snowflake, Databricks, and industry expertise to support client delivery.
- Demonstrate management and the ability to lead projects or teams individually.
- Experience in team management, communication, and presentation.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 5+ years ETL experience as Lead/Architect.
- Expertise in ETL mappings and data warehouse concepts.
- Ability to design a data warehouse and present solutions as per client needs.
- Thorough knowledge of SQL and experience working on SQL Server, including SQL tuning and optimisation using explain plans and trace files.
- Experience developing SSIS batch jobs – deployment, scheduling, etc.
- Skills building Alteryx workflows for data integration, modelling, optimisation, and data quality.
- Knowledge of Azure components such as ADF, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DB, Snowflake, Databricks.
- Knowledge of data modelling and ETL design.
- Design and develop complex mappings, process flows and ETL scripts.
- In‑depth experience designing databases and data modelling.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Strong knowledge of ELT/ETL concepts, design and coding.
- Expertise in data handling to resolve client‑specific data issues.
- Experience designing and developing database objects such as tables, views, indexes, materialised views, and analytical functions.
- Experience creating complex SQL queries for retrieving, manipulating, checking, and migrating complex datasets in databases.
- Experience in SQL tuning and optimisation using explain plans and trace files.
- Knowledge of ETL tools such as Alteryx, SSAS, SSRS, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Power Apps.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience interacting with customers to understand business requirements and translate them into ETL specifications and high‑ and low‑level design documents.
- Experience with cloud databases and multiple ETL tools.
