Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an Inventory Management Lead to optimize global inventory control and data integrity. The role focuses on reducing excess stock, standardising processes and delivering actionable insights to improve stock utilisation across plants worldwide.

The candidate will work with GA hubs, GPGs and TT&L CoE to align forecasts, budgets and performance metrics, driving changes that support efficiency and regulatory compliance in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in supply chain management, transport, logistics, procurement or related operations.
• Experience working in cross-functional global organisations with collaboration across units and geographies.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of GA SCM TT&L strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders and global policies.
• Consolidate volume data and validate TT&L budgets, targets and planning assumptions with GA Hubs and GPGs.
• Act as liaison with TT&L CoE and coordinate implementation of initiatives within GA.
• Monitor TT&L CoE performance and drive improvements where needed.
• Drive standardisation and supplier consolidation across GA Hubs and GPGs.
• Identify and consolidate a pipeline of opportunities supporting TT&L cost reduction and cost avoidance.
• Support rollout of TT&L projects, tools and processes across sites and functions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and update on TT&L topics as required.
• Collaborate with other business units to exchange knowledge and best practices.

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence centre with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.The Inventory Management Lead will play a vital role in ensuring effective inventory control and data accuracy across global operations. By collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders, this role will focus on minimizing excess inventory, standardising processes and improving data integrity within the organisation. The Inventory Management Lead will provide actionable insights optimise stock utilisation and drive alignment across plants worldwide contributing to operational efficiency and strategic business objectives.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead the implementation of the GA SCM TT&L strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with global policies, processes, systems and the defined governance model.
• Partner with GA Hubs and Global Product Groups (GPGs) to consolidate volume data and validate GA TT&L budget forecasts, targets and planning assumptions.
• Act as the key liaison with the TT&L Center of Expertise (CoE), reviewing centrally managed initiatives and coordinating their effective implementation within GA.
• Monitor TT&L CoE service-level performance and drive corrective actions or improvement initiatives where required.
• Track GA SCM TT&L initiatives in close alignment with the TT&L CoE, ensuring progress, risks and dependencies are clearly visible.
• Drive standardisation, process harmonisation and supplier consolidation across GA Hubs and GPGs.
• Engage GA Hubs and GPGs to identify develop and consolidate a pipeline of opportunities supporting delivery of the GA TT&L cost reduction (CR) and cost avoidance (CA) plan; conduct regular reviews to monitor progress against targets.
• Act as a change agent by building awareness supporting stakeholder engagement and enabling the successful rollout of new TT&L projects, tools and processes.
• Provide regular and ad hoc updates on TT&L topics, regulatory changes and compliance requirements; identify address or escalation gaps to ensure GA remains compliant.
• Collaborate with counterparts across other Business Units to exchange knowledge benchmark performance and implement relevant best practices.
• Represent GA in relevant workshops and provide input on GA forecasts performance and annual TT&L budget planning.
• Support best-in-class delivery against Hitachi Energy KPIs, including maintaining accurate purchasing information records (PIRs), such as material weights and country of origin data.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the team and evolving business priorities.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in supply chain management transport trade logistics procurement or a related operational environment.
• Experience working in cross-functional matrixed or global organisations with the ability to collaborate effectively across business units functions and geographies.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise systems is desirable.
• Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements or a willingness to develop this expertise.
• Excellent communication stakeholder management negotiation and influencing skills.
