Job summary

CACTUS invites a scholarly Editor to refine research manuscripts, ensuring scientific accuracy and discipline-specific language while elevating overall English quality.

You will evaluate study designs, statistics, and interpretations; maintain journal-ready standards and follow target journal guidelines; a PhD in Biomedical Informatics / Health Informatics / Bioinformatics is mandatory and 5–10 first-author publications preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Informatics/Health Informatics/Bioinformatics (mandatory).
• Strong publication record, with 5-10 or more first-author publications (mandatory).
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving author intent.

• Edit manuscripts such that the final text meets the highest standards of academic writing, is free of unclear, illogical, or unidiomatic sentences. Adhere to job-specific guidelines and format manuscripts according to the target journal when required.
