Role Description

The Scaffolding and Formwork Designer is a full-time, development role for new products. The role involves designing safe and efficient scaffolding and formwork systems for a variety of construction projects, using relevant standards, design software, and engineering principles. The designer will prepare detailed drawings, material lists, and load calculations, and coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and clients to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and budget requirements. Daily tasks include reviewing project specifications, conducting site assessments, optimizing designs for material usage, and providing technical guidance to site teams during installation and inspections. The role also includes maintaining documentation, supporting risk assessments, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and safety practices.

Qualifications-

Experienced individual with knowledge of inner workings of the industry and willing take the new product development vertical further.

• Strong scaffolding design knowledge, including Scaffolding systems, Working at Height practices, and Fall Protection considerations.

• Experience working in or planning for Confined Space environments, with awareness of relevant safety procedures and controls.
• Familiarity with CSCS or equivalent construction site safety certification and adherence to industry safety standards.
• Proficiency in technical drawing and design tools (such as AutoCAD or similar software) for scaffolding and formwork layouts.
• Solid understanding of structural principles, load calculations, and relevant codes or guidelines for temporary works.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with site teams, engineers, and clients.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, and translate them into practical scaffolding and formwork solutions.
• Diploma or degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in scaffolding/formwork design is an advantage.
