Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing Functional Consultant to design, configure, and support SAP solutions for production planning, shop floor execution, and supply chain integration.

You will work across blueprinting, testing, go-live and hypercare, collaborating with global teams to deliver end-to-end SAP PP, MM, SD and EWM integrations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in SAP PP and related modules.
• End-to-end SAP implementation experience across manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to map AS-IS and TO-BE manufacturing processes.
• Configure SAP modules and master data (BOMs, routing, work centers).
• Ensure integration with MM/SD/EWM and cross-functional processes (order-to-cash, plan-to-produce).
• Participate in blueprinting, design, build, test, go-live and hypercare activities.
• Prepare functional specifications and provide post-go-live support.

Job Description: SAP Manufacturing Functional Consultant

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing Functional Consultant to design, configure, and support SAP solutions related to manufacturing processes. The role focuses on aligning SAP capabilities with business requirements across production planning, shop floor execution, and integration with supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Process Analysis

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand manufacturing processes and requirements
• Analyze current ("AS-IS") processes and design optimized ("TO-BE") solutions
• Provide recommendations aligned with SAP best practices

2. SAP Configuration & Implementation

• Configure SAP modules such as:
  • SAP PP (Production Planning)
  • SAP QM (Quality Management)
  • SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) (optional based on scope)
• Set up master data: BOMs, routing, work centers, production versions
• Support production planning strategies (Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Repetitive Manufacturing)

3. Integration & End-to-End Processes

• Ensure integration with:
  • SAP MM (Materials Management)
  • SAP SD (Sales & Distribution)
  • SAP EWM / WM (Warehouse Management)
• Work on cross-functional processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce)

4. Implementation Lifecycle

• Participate in full project lifecycle:
  • Blueprinting / Discovery
  • Design
  • Build & Configuration
  • Testing (Unit, SIT, UAT)
  • Go-live and Hypercare support
• Prepare functional specifications for developments (RICEFW objects)

5. Testing & Support

• Prepare and execute test cases
• Support defect resolution and root cause analysis
• Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvements

6. Documentation & Training

• Create functional documentation, configuration guides, and SOPs
• Conduct end-user training and workshops

Required Skills & Experience

Core Skills

• Strong expertise in SAP PP module
• Hands-on experience with:
  • MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
  • Capacity planning
  • Production orders / process orders
  • Batch management (preferred)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes:
  • Discrete manufacturing
  • Process manufacturing (optional but valuable)

Technical/Functional Knowledge

• Integration knowledge with MM, SD, QM
• Familiarity with S/4HANA Manufacturing processes
• Experience with Fiori apps for manufacturing

Tools & Methodologies

• Experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations
• Understanding of Agile / Activate methodology
• Functional specification writing (FS)

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certification in Production Planning (PP) or S/4HANA Manufacturing
• Experience with:
  • MES integration
  • PP-PI (Process Industries)
  • PP-DS (Detailed Scheduling)
• Exposure to Industry 4.0 / IoT integration

Typical Experience Range

• Mid-level: 4–8 years SAP PP experience

• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
