Job summary

Vodafone Global IT, Pune, seeks an experienced SAP Role Designer to design, build and test secure SAP roles across EVO systems, aligning with governance and compliance policies. The role collaborates with system integrators, project managers and global stakeholders to deliver secure SAP access and continuous improvements.

You will contribute to role design across modules like R/3, HANA, BI, HR, EP, MDM, SRM, CRM, PI and SuccessFactors, ensuring alignment with SoD, GRC and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• 7 to 15 years SAP implementation and support experience.
• Exposure to SAP modules including R/3, HANA, BI, HR, EP, MDM, SRM, CRM, PI and SuccessFactors.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into SAP role designs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with governance and compliance (GRC, SoD, SOX).

Responsibilities

• Analyse system integrator solutions to ensure SAP access security requirements are met.
• Design, build and test global SAP roles across EVO systems per best practices.
• Maintain EVO SAP Roles Catalogue with updated roles.
• Support user access processes in line with IT and SOX controls.
• Lead security design to meet business needs and provide SME input.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver security requirements within approved demands.
• Support demand testing and ensure Vodafone EVO security policy compliance.
• Act as a contact for global teams for issue resolution and improvements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in SAP security management.

Job description

Vodafone has recently completed its largest business transformation programme for back-office Finance, Supply Chain and HR operations, with approximately 140,000 users of the new solution across more than 20 countries. User access is critical to business continuity, and the Global Roles, Governance & Compliance (RGC) team, based in Pune, governs role design and user controls across the organisation.

The SAP Role Designer is responsible for ensuring that access to the EVO SAP environment is designed in alignment with the Core Business Model and built in accordance with compliance policies. The role acts as the RGC representative for change requests within the EVO demand process and supports the design, build, testing and deployment of SAP security roles. The individual will work closely with system integrators, project managers and global stakeholders to ensure security requirements are effectively delivered and maintained.

Who are you

You are a security-focused SAP professional with extensive experience in SAP implementation and support. You have strong governance awareness, an analytical approach to role design and the ability to translate business and functional requirements into secure and compliant SAP access solutions.

You are comfortable working with global stakeholders, managing multiple priorities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance user security processes and controls.

What you will do

• Analyse solutions received from system integrators to ensure all aspects of user access security requirements are followed.
• Design, build and test consistent global roles across EVO systems while supporting SAP application best practices.
• Ensure all SAP roles are incorporated into the EVO SAP Roles Catalogue.
• Support user access processes in line with Global IT and SOX control requirements.
• Manage SAP security role design to meet business requirements and provide subject matter expertise on user security.
• Engage with system integrators and project managers to ensure security requirements are delivered within approved demands.
• Support demand testing activities and validate that all Vodafone EVO security policies are met.
• Act as a key point of contact for global teams for issue resolution and ongoing enhancement of SAP security roles and access processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing user security management practices.

What skills you need

• Deep knowledge and 7 to 15 years of SAP implementation and support experience.
• Exposure to SAP modules including R/3, HANA, BI, HR, EP, MDM, SRM, CRM, PI and SuccessFactors.
• Ability to understand business requirements and assess authorisation impacts on EVO roles.
• Ability to convert functional specifications into SAP role designs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing end-to-end implementation or upgrade projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with hands-on experience providing techno-functional input to the business.
• Strong governance mindset and understanding of compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of GRC, Segregation of Duties (SoD) analysis, SOX and IT controls.
• Ability to work effectively in a global environment and manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
