This role is ideal for someone who has built strong, hands‑on expertise in one or more SAP functional modules and genuinely enjoys staying close to the technical work, while also looking to grow into people management as a next step in their career. That said, this is just not a people management role - they need to have hands‑on delivery and technical ownership to guide resources, with team leadership emerging as a natural extension of that expertise rather than being the primary mandate of the job.

Seeking a highly experienced SAP Functional Lead - AMS Delivery to provide hands‑on leadership within the SAP team. This role is accountable for end‑to‑end SAP AMS delivery and functional leadership from offshore across SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments, supporting key business domains including OTC, PTR, PTM and Logistics. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of functional expertise, delivery ownership, and leadership capability, with the ability to manage global support operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with SAP standard best practices.

This position is responsible for maintaining the health and stability of global SAP systems by ensuring high‑quality solution delivery across analysis, design, configuration, integration, testing, and ongoing support. The role also manages offshore functional and technical teams working closely with business stakeholders, and SAP consultants to deliver solutions aligned with the overall IT and business strategy.

The expectation is that this is a hands‑on role with expertise across at least one or more SAP functional domains (SD, FICO, PP, LE).

Key Responsibilities

1. AMS Delivery Ownership

• Own end‑to‑end SAP AMS support delivery, including incident, problem, change, and release management
• Drive SLA/KPI performance, backlog health, ticket resolution, and overall service quality
• Lead governance cadence: daily operations reviews, weekly service reviews, monthly KPI reporting, and QBRs
• Act as the primary escalation point for business and IT stakeholders

2. Functional Leadership (Hands‑on)

• Provide hands‑on functional expertise across multiple SAP modules
• Analyze business requirements and deliver solutions aligned with SAP standard capabilities
• Support system configuration, enhancements, and defect resolution
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for complex issues
• Review and validate solution design, configuration changes, and enhancements

3. SAP Application Support & Enhancements

• Provide day‑to‑day support for SAP S/4HANA and ECC systems (including add‑ons)
• Manage incident resolution, change requests, and system enhancements
• Support testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and ensure high‑quality delivery
• Drive adoption of SAP best practices in configuration and solution design

4. Integration & Technical Coordination

• Own and support the integration landscape across SAP and non‑SAP systems
• Troubleshoot interfaces involving IDocs, APIs, EDI, RFC, BAPI, ALE, PI/PO, CPI
• Coordinate with ABAP teams by providing functional specifications and validation
• Ensure reliable and consistent data flow across business processes

5. Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor offshore SAP functional and technical teams
• Manage resource planning, capacity, and shift coverage aligned to global operations
• Collaborate with business process owners, key users, and global stakeholders
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership

6. Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Drive problem management and automation initiatives to reduce recurring incidents
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base artifactsEnsure adherence to ITIL processes, SLA commitments, and audit requirements
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 10+ years of SAP functional experience in one or more modules of SAP
• 2+ years of SAP S/4HANA experience
• 3+ years in leadership or delivery management roles
• Strong functional expertise in supporting more than one module - OTC, PTR, PTM or Logistics
• Strong experience in AMS / Production Support environments
• Experience with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
• Proven track record in designing and implementing SAP functional solutions
• Knowledge of integration technologies i.e IDocs, RFC, ALE, BAPI, APIs

Pay Range

$120,000.00 – $180,000.00
