Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant specialized in SAP IS-U and FI-CA to join the EY GDS-Utilities team. You will implement and support IS-U projects for utilities clients, driving workshops, blueprints, testing, and training to deliver value.

The role requires strong knowledge of FICA, BRIM CI, BRF+, and integrations with payment channels. You will collaborate with offshore/onshore teams and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in a functional SAP role.
• At least 1 end-to-end SAP implementation as lead consultant.
• Experience with SAP FI-CA and BRIM CI.
• Strong communication and ability to work offshore/onshore.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional knowledge with hands-on experience in IS-U utilities.
• Configure the IS-U system.
• Lead workshops, blueprint sessions, develop BBPs/BBDs FS, test scenarios, conduct trainings, perform testing and provide defect management support for Device Management module.
• Design core / customized business processes and provide best practices for ISU.
• Communicate complex requirements to and from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willing to travel as per requirement.
• Monitors the progress and the quality of the project

Your key responsibilities

• To provide functional knowledge with hands-on experience in electricity, gas and water utilities.
• Hands on experience configuring the IS-U system
• Drive Business Workshops, Blueprint Sessions, develop BBPs/BBDs FS, Test Scenarios, conduct Trainings, perform Testing and provide defect management support for Device Management module
• Design core / customized business processes and provide best practices for ISU.
• Communicate complex requirements to and from Technical and Non-technical stakeholders
• Willing to travel as per requirement
• Monitors the progress and the quality of the project

Skills and attributes for success

• Should understand different business processes in the Utility Industry (Regulated and Deregulated)
• Should possess SAP FICA knowledge for preparation of business blueprints, business process plan (BPP), functional documents, and test cases etc.
• Should have knowledge of the Meter to Cash
• Should have experience in FICA Dunning procedure/Collection Strategy, payment (cash desk/external cash desk) integration with payment channels, write off, return processing, security deposit, installment plan, and promise to pay.
• Exposure of Country specific localization.
• Experience in BRIM CI FICA is good to have.
• Experience in configuring FICA Events and BRF+ (functional).
• Strong knowledge of clearing strategy, clearing rules.
• Experience in Cash Desk and clarifications.
• Strong knowledge of month-end and period-end closing and FICA to FICO GL integration.
• Experience in the de-regulated/Regulated energy market.
• Develop templates and methods to improve the efficiency of application support.
• Gather and prioritize relevant SAP Business requirements and designing the appropriate solution
• Understands configuration dependencies and inter-relationships between other modules of SAP such as Device Management, CS/CRM, Billing and design and troubleshoot in the area with this knowledge
• Define test scenarios to cover full scope of the business as well as creating master data and carry out the unit, cycle and integration tests
• Should be well versed to make enhancements in specific FICA events.
• Must have completed multiple SAP projects and have excellent communication skills
• Confidence working within an offshore/onshore delivery model
• Proven expedience large stream of work across multiple locations
• Consulting experience advantageous
• Strong hands-on experience on FI-CA concepts:
  • Company Code Setup
  • Chart of Accounts and GL setup
  • Main / Sub Transaction Setup
  • Security Deposit Process
  • Incoming Payments (Real Time, Direct Debit, Cash Desk, etc.)
  • Outgoing Payments and Returns
  • Collection process using Collection Strategy
  • Collection Agency related process
  • Transfer Posting process
  • Escheatment process
• Implementation experience of BRF Plus.
• Experience and knowledge of using middleware technology to integrate SAP with third party systems for payments, collection agencies, etc.
• Experience in data migration.
• Can work under minimum supervision, good time management and work planning

To qualify for the role, you must have

• College degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences
• Approximately 5 to 8 years of experience in a functional role. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities during the period
• Prior SAP BRIM CI role is a must
• Should have worked on minimum 1 implementation from scratch as a lead consultant.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Experience on integration with third-party applications
• Knowledge of integration with SAP RAR, BRIM CI/SOM/CM
• Hands on experience in SAP S4 HANA Platform
• Experience on tools like JIRA or equivalent tool to maintain stories.
• SAP Utilities certifications are a plus:
  • Certification in SAP FICA (IUT240 / AC240 / BR240)
  • Certifications in SAP BRIM Convergent Invoicing (AC245 / BR245)
