Job summary

PwC Hyderabad seeks an experienced SAP Controls Consultant to lead design and assurance across R2R, O2C, P2P, and P2M, coordinating control narratives, CTSs, MCPs, and RCMs with clear ownership.

You will drive ITGC reviews for SOX compliance, oversee Pathlock-related access reviews, and guide remediation and go-live readiness across concurrent engagements.

Qualifications

• Lead pre- and post-implementation control design assessments across core processes.
• Oversee narratives, MCPs, CTSs, RCMs, and process documentation with ownership/RACI.
• Assess automated and manual controls, interfaces, data dependencies and exception handling.
• Challenge design deviations, identify gaps and propose remediation with deadlines.
• Oversee WRICEF reviews, specifications, defect assessments and control impacts.

Responsibilities

• Direct SAP ITGC reviews covering user access, change management, and governance.
• Guide SoD reviews and Pathlock-related assessments.
• Provide assurance through design checkpoints, go-live readiness, and remediation validation.
• Lead engagement planning, budgeting, resourcing, and stakeholder reporting across multiple projects.
• Coach teams and build strong relationships with overseas engagement teams and client process owners.

Role & responsibilities

SAP controls design, integration and assurance

• Lead pre- and post-implementation control design assessments, fit-gap reviews, configuration testing, and operating effectiveness support across R2R, O2C, P2P, P2M and related cross-functional processes.
• Oversee development and review of control activity narratives (CANs), manual control procedures (MCPs), control test scripts (CTSs), risk and control matrices (RCMs), process flows and control ownership/RACI documentation.
• Assess automated application controls, configurable controls, interfaces, key reports, data dependencies, exception handling, and manual controls reliant on SAP-generated information.
• Challenge design deviations, identify control gaps, evaluate business and financial reporting impact, and recommend remediation or compensating controls with clear ownership and deadlines.
• Oversee RICEFW/WRICEF reviews, functional specifications, custom enhancements, defect and change assessments, testing evidence, and control impacts throughout project releases and hypercare.

Technology risk, security and regulatory compliance

• Direct SAP ITGC reviews covering user access, privileged access, authentication, change management, operations, logging, and configuration governance, aligned to relevant SOX and audit requirements.
• Guide SAP GRC and Pathlock-related reviews, including access request approvals, periodic access reviews, segregation of duties (SoD), sensitive access, ruleset governance and mitigating controls.
• Provide implementation assurance through design checkpoints, go-live readiness reviews, risk escalation, remediation validation, and coordination with internal and external assurance teams.

Engagement and people leadership

• Own engagement planning, budgets, resourcing, work allocation, milestones, quality review, issue resolution and senior stakeholder reporting across concurrent projects.
• Coach and review multidisciplinary teams; set clear expectations for documentation, evidence sufficiency, technical accuracy, productivity, and timely delivery.
• Build trusted relationships with overseas engagement teams, client process owners, SAP functional and technical leads, compliance teams, and program management offices.
• Contribute to proposals, solution development, methodology improvement, knowledge assets, reusable testing accelerators and practice growth.
