Job summary

Velodata Global Pvt Ltd is seeking a Senior ABAP + SAP BTP Consultant to design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs, BAPI/BAdI implementations, and OData services for ECC/S/4HANA with SAP BTP integration. You will drive architecture decisions, review code, and mentor junior ABAP/BTP consultants from Kochi or remote within India.

The role requires 5+ years in SAP ABAP and at least 2 years in SAP BTP, including CPI iFlow development, CAP, and Build Apps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.
• Strong proficiency in ABAP OO and modern/Clean ABAP.
• Experience with RICEF objects including IDocs/ALE/EDI interfaces, BDC/LSMW conversions, and SmartForms/Adobe Forms.
• Proficiency in OData service development using SEGW and the ABAP RAP model.
• Strong SQL and HANA native development skills (CDS Views, HANA procedures, AMDP).
• Minimum 2-3 years hands-on SAP BTP, including Integration Suite (CPI) iFlow development and adapter configuration.
• Experience with SAP Build Process Automation and SAP CAP (Node.js or Java).
• BTP Cockpit administration and API Management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs, enhancements, and custom RICEF objects across ECC and S/4HANA.
• Develop and maintain BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Spots.
• Design and implement OData V2/V4 services using SEGW and the ABAP RAP model for Fiori and BTP integrations.
• Lead technical architecture decisions, conduct peer code reviews, and drive coding standards across the ABAP stream.
• Performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis for complex ABAP issues.
• Design and build integration flows on SAP Integration Suite (CPI) connecting SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Develop BTP extensions using CAP and SAP Build Apps; automate with Build Process Automation.
• Configure and manage API Management, Event Mesh, and connectivity services; deploy on BTP Cloud Foundry and Kyma runtimes.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate requirements into designs and test results.
• Lead workshops and client reviews; support effort estimation and change requests.
• Manage workstreams end-to-end from design to hypercare, mentoring junior ABAP/BTP consultants.

Senior ABAP + SAP BTP Consultant(RAP)

What you can expect from the job

Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs, enhancements, and custom RICEF objects across ECC and S/4HANA.

Develop and maintain BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Spots, following SAP best practices and clean core principles.

Design and implement OData V2/V4 services using SEGW and the ABAP RAP model for Fiori and BTP integrations.

Lead technical architecture decisions, conduct peer code reviews, and drive coding standards across the ABAP workstream.

Perform performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis for complex ABAP issues.

Design and build integration flows on SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI), connecting SAP and non-SAP systems.

Develop BTP extensions using CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) and SAP Build Apps; implement automation using SAP Build Process Automation.

Configure and manage API Management, Event Mesh, and connectivity services; deploy solutions on BTP Cloud Foundry and Kyma runtimes as applicable.

Work closely with functional consultants and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs, solution architecture documents, and unit test results.

Lead technical workshops and client reviews; support effort estimation, technical scoping, and change request assessment.

Manage individual workstreams end-to-end, from design through development, testing, and hypercare, while mentoring junior ABAP/BTP consultants.

Must-have skills/ characteristics

5+ years of hands-on ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.

Strong proficiency in classical ABAP, ABAP OO, and modern/Clean ABAP (ABAP in Eclipse).

Experience with RICEF objects, including IDocs/ALE/EDI interfaces, BDC/LSMW conversions, and SmartForms/Adobe Forms.

Proficiency in OData service development using SEGW (SAP Gateway) and the ABAP RAP model.

Strong SQL and HANA native development skills (CDS Views, HANA procedures, AMDP).

Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience on SAP BTP, including Integration Suite (CPI) iFlow development and adapter configuration.

Experience with SAP Build Process Automation and SAP CAP (Node.js or Java) for building cloud-native services.

BTP Cockpit administration (subaccount setup, entitlements, service bindings, destinations) and API Management.

Other desirable skills/characteristics

Experience with SAP Build Apps (low-code front-end development on BTP).

Knowledge of SAP Event Mesh, event-driven architecture patterns, and the Kyma runtime.

Exposure to SAP Joule integration and AI/ML services on BTP (GenAI Hub).

SAP certification in ABAP, BTP Integration, or CAP.
