Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect/Lead to drive architecture, presales, and delivery for Tier-1 clients. You will oversee SAP Basis, S/4HANA migrations, and cloud migrations, coordinating large, distributed teams across hybrid environments.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of SAP Basis experience, strong leadership, and proven migrations and upgrade track records, with excellent communication skills for executive audiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP Basis experience with 5+ years in Architect/Lead roles including presales.
• Experience in Tier-1 organizations with 2+ implementations and 3–4 upgrades/migrations.
• Deep hands-on SAP Basis, NetWeaver, S/4HANA/HANA, Oracle and MSSQL knowledge.
• Proven SAO OS/DB migrations including S/4HANA conversions & major upgrades.
• Strong cloud experience with Azure/AWS/GCP or RISE with SAP.
• Demonstrated large, distributed, cross-functional team leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP Basis architecture and presales activities for proposals.
• Oversee deployments, migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Guide modernization efforts using ITSM practices and IaC.
• Mentor junior staff and drive quality across projects.

Job Description

• Experience: 10+ years of overall SAP Basis experience, with at least 5+ years in an Architect or Lead role, including demonstrable Presales experience.
• Have worked in Tier-1 organization with at least 2 implementations and 3-4 Upgrade/migration experience.
• Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on expertise in SAP Basis, NetWeaver, S/4HANA and HANA ,Oracle, MSSQL and other database administration.
• Migration Expertise: Proven experience leading multiple full-cycle SAO OS/DB migrations including SAP S/4HANA Conversions/Migrations and major system upgrades.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Strong working knowledge of running SAP on at least one major Hyperscaler (Azure, AWS, or GCP) or in a RISE with SAP context.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large, distributed, and cross-functional technical teams (both project and support).
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and executive leadership.

Certifications

• SAP Basis Certified Technology Associate/Specialist in S/4HANA or NetWeaver
• Certification in one or more major public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solution Architect).

• Experience with SAP Automation tools, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Proficiency in IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, particularly ITIL.
