Job summary

Orcapod Consulting Services seeks an experienced SAP Basis consultant to manage and optimize our SAP landscape in Bengaluru. You will handle end-to-end SAP administration, system refreshes, kernel upgrades, and patch management across Linux/SLES environments.

Responsibilities include 24/7 incident support for P1/P2, transport management, and integration tasks with RFC, BTP, SOA Manager, and eDoc framework. Prior E2E SAP experience is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on SAP Basis administration experience with S/4HANA and SAP HANA DB.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis / HANA Consultant to manage, maintain, and optimize our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end SAP system administration, including system refreshes, kernel/SLES patch management, TMS administration, P1/P2 critical issue support, and interface management across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

1. System Administration & Core Maintenance

• Perform end-to-end System Refreshes (Homogeneous & Heterogeneous DB refreshes) and system copies.
• Manage, track, and execute Kernel upgrades, Support Package Stacks (SPS), Add-ons (SPAM/SAINT/SUM), and SNOTE implementations.
• Execute SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) patch management and OS-level administration.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly system health checks, EarlyWatch Alert (EWA) reviews, and performance tuning.
• Monitor background jobs, system logs (SM21, ST22, SM50/51), and perform AJMR health checks.

2. Production & Incident Support

• Provide robust 24/7 support for P1, P2, and critical incidents, ensuring strict adherence to SLAs and delivering Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports.
• Lead production monitoring following major changes, system upgrades, and transport deployments.
• Handle Change Management Approval processes (including CoC fallback scenarios).

3. Connectivity, Integration & Security

• Manage RFC connections, UCON configuration, and LDAP integration.
• Configure and maintain SAP BTP key management and SOA Manager connections.
• Support specialized implementations, such as eDocument Framework (Poland & Hungary eDoc notes).
• Oversee Axway interface queries and third-party integration support (e.g., Majorel & Basware credit notes archive support).
• Handle Certificate Management (SSL, STRUST, PSE) across the landscape.

4. Governance, Compliance & Release Management

• Manage Transport Management System (TMS), TRANYTIME administration, distribution planning, and validation.
• Support One ERP migration activities (Cars and Trucks migration tracks).
• Manage SAP License Measurement (USMM/SLAW) and report compliance.
• Coordinate SAP OSS Message Support and partner with SAP vendor support teams.
• Update and maintain system calendars (e.g., NACOS calendar updates) and execute Year-End activities support.
• Oversee Printer & Spool Management across SAP instances.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with SAP Basis administration, S/4HANA, ECC 6.0, and SAP HANA DB (1.0/2.0).
• Operating System: Strong proficiency in Linux / SLES administration and patch management.
• Integrations: Solid understanding of RFC, BTP, SOA Manager, eDoc framework, and third-party archiving tools.
• Troubleshooting: Demonstrated capability in resolving complex P1/P2 incidents under tight deadlines.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to cloud implementations (AWS / Azure / GCP) or SAP Cloud Connector.
• Experience with automated monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Control-M, or SolMan/Focused Run).
• Prior experience handling audit compliance support (e.g., Service user password audits, EY/Deloitte reviews).
