Job summary

Vodafone Group Plc is seeking an experienced SAP IS-U / RMCA ABAP Developer to join its ERP team in Pune. The role focuses on designing and delivering robust technical solutions supporting SAP FI and RMCA/FICA processes, with exposure to HANA, OData services, REST APIs and Fiori development.

The successful candidate will work with functional teams to analyze requirements, create designs, develop ABAP solutions, and ensure timely delivery across projects within a global telecom context.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong RMCA/FICA configuration and customization experience.
• Expertise in RICEFW development, documentation, testing, and support.
• Experience with ABAP on HANA and REST API technologies.
• Interfaces using ALE/IDocs, file interfaces, OData, REST APIs, and web services.
• Familiar with SAP enhancement techniques (e.g., BAdIs, FQEVENT).
• Exposure to SAP HANA developments and SAP Fiori is advantageous.
• Fluency in English; German knowledge is a plus.

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U / FICA ABAP Developer to join our ERP team in Pune. This role focuses on designing and delivering robust technical solutions that support SAP FI and RMCA/FICA business processes. The successful candidate will work closely with functional teams and business stakeholders to analyse requirements, create technical designs, develop ABAP solutions, support system enhancements, and ensure successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines. The role requires strong expertise in SAP ABAP, RMCA/FICA configuration and customisation, SAP integrations, troubleshooting, and solution design, with exposure to modern technologies such as SAP HANA, OData services, REST APIs, and Fiori development being advantageous.

What you’ll do

• Translate functional specifications into effective technical solution designs.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain RICEFW objects.
• Perform configuration and customisation activities within SAP RMCA/FICA.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, unit test documentation, and supporting project artefacts.
• Prepare test cases and perform unit testing and support system testing activities.
• Design, develop, and support application solutions using SAP ABAP, ABAP on HANA, and REST API technologies.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using ALE/IDocs, file-based integrations, OData services, REST APIs, and web services.
• Collaborate with project teams during analysis, development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Resolve defects and provide technical support throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support incident resolution and implementation of change requests as part of the SAP Centre of Expertise.
• Contribute to effort estimation, feasibility assessments, planning activities, and delivery management.
• Ensure assigned projects meet agreed business requirements, timelines, quality standards, and budget objectives.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis activities to maintain solution stability.

Who you are

• Proven experience in SAP ABAP development with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP RMCA/FICA modules.
• Experience in RMCA/FICA configuration and customisation.
• Demonstrated expertise in RICEFW development, documentation, testing, and support.
• Strong experience with SAP enhancement techniques including FQEVENT, BAdIs, and other enhancement frameworks.
• Experience developing interfaces using ALE/IDocs, file interfaces, REST APIs, OData services, and web services.
• Working knowledge of Object-Oriented ABAP development.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good understanding of RMCA/FICA business processes, including Payment Lot, Return Lot, Direct Debit Payment Runs, Dunning, Collection Agency processes, and Security Deposits.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, solution designs, estimates, and implementation documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments with changing priorities and ambiguity.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA developments and SAP Fiori applications would be advantageous.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, including SAFe Agile practices, would be beneficial.
• Experience with EMIGALL and SAP legacy data migration activities would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence would be beneficial.
• SAP FICA/RMCA ABAP (IS-U ABAP) expertise is essential.
• SAP certification is preferred.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of German, both written and spoken, would be an added advantage.
