Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a SAP ABAP Technical Consultant to join our Hyderabad team. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and supporting ABAP-based solutions across modules, interfaces, and forms.

The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of hands-on SAP ABAP experience, strong debugging skills, and a solid understanding of cross-module integration with FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP. Be part of a global leader delivering enterprise-scale services.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP.
• Good knowledge of Reports, ALV, Data Dictionary, Function Modules and ABAP Objects (OO ABAP).
• Experience with BAPI, BADI, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancement Framework.
• Experience with IDoc/ALE, RFC and interface development.
• Knowledge of Smart Forms, SAPscript and/or Adobe Forms.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with ABAP performance analysis and optimization.
• Good understanding of SAP functional processes and cross-module integration.
• Experience in AMS L2/L3 support and/or implementation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP programs and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain: Reports and ALV Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows.
• Develop and support BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, Enhancement Framework and RFCs.
• Develop and troubleshoot IDoc/ALE-based interfaces.
• Work with Smart Forms, SAPscript and Adobe Forms.
• Perform debugging and root-cause analysis of complex SAP application issues.
• Analyze functional specifications and prepare appropriate technical designs.
• Work closely with functional consultants across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM and other SAP modules.
• Develop and support integrations between SAP and external applications.
• Perform code reviews, performance optimization and technical troubleshooting.
• Support incidents, service requests, problems, and change requests within agreed SLAs.
• Perform unit testing and support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production deployments.
• Support transports and coordinate with Basis and functional teams for production releases.
• Prepare technical specifications, test evidence, RCA documents, and support documentation.

  • Code pushdown and HANA optimization concepts
  • S/4HANA custom-code remediation and simplification
  • RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) - preferred
