Sovos is hiring a Salesforce Application Architect to own the technical architecture across Sales Cloud, CPQ, and Service Cloud. You will design scalable solutions, govern Apex/LWC/SFDX standards, and ensure platform health at scale in a global SaaS environment.

You’ll build AI-powered features on the Salesforce platform, manage integrations with Zuora/NetSuite via middleware, and lead DevOps practices to deliver reliable, secure systems for tax compliance at Sovos.

The Role

At Sovos, we're building the platform that makes tax compliance simple for thousands of global enterprises. As Salesforce Application Architect, you'll own the technical architecture and engineering of our Salesforce ecosystem, designing scalable solutions that power our go-to-market operations and integrate AI-powered automation directly into production. This is a senior technical leadership role where you'll balance deep platform engineering, CPQ expertise, and modern AI tooling to deliver reliable, maintainable systems at global scale. More Specifically, You Will

• Own the Salesforce technical architecture across Sales Cloud, CPQ, and Service Cloud, designing scalable, maintainable solutions that balance declarative and programmatic approaches with a strong focus on long-term platform health and org simplicity.
• Govern platform engineering standards for Apex, LWC, SFDX, and Flow automation, including coding standards, architecture and code reviews, bulkification patterns, metadata hygiene, and technical debt remediation to keep the platform performant as it scales.
• Design and maintain the Salesforce security model including org-wide defaults, role hierarchy, permission sets, permission set groups, field-level security, and sharing rules; conduct periodic security audits and enforce least-privilege access.
• Architect and engineer the Salesforce CPQ platform, including product catalogue, pricing rules, QCP (JavaScript quoting processes), MDQ (multi-dimensional quoting), Advanced Approvals, amendment and renewal logic, and ARR categorisation; own end-to-end Quote-to-Cash process integrity and integrations with Zuora and NetSuite via middleware.
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered features directly on the Salesforce platform using LLM APIs (Claude, Copilot), including agentic data-quality workflows, deal and quoting chatbots grounded in CPQ data, and AI-assisted development workflows; evaluate and govern Salesforce-native AI capabilities including Agentforce agents, Einstein Copilot, and Prompt Builder.
• Architect and govern Salesforce integration patterns including REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, named credentials, and External Services; set clear standards for declarative versus programmatic callout patterns and partner with data and integrations teams on middleware strategy.
• Lead Salesforce DevOps practices using Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines; govern platform health via Salesforce Health Check, Code Analyser in the CI pipeline, and org limits monitoring; enforce sandbox strategy, environment governance, and AppExchange package evaluation.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for the Salesforce team; conduct code and architecture reviews, mentor administrators and developers, and partner with Sales Operations, Finance, and executive stakeholders to translate business requirements into sound technical design, communicating decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead Salesforce workstreams for M&A due diligence and post-close integration; own platform controls aligned to SOX ITGC requirements including change management controls, access review evidence, and audit log configuration.

What You Bring to Sovos

• You've built deep platform expertise across Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Cloud, and integrations in a global SaaS environment, with solid architecture and engineering skills demonstrated over the course of your career.
• Salesforce Certified Application Architect required; Certified Data Architect or Sharing and Visibility Architect strongly preferred; strong data architecture skills including large data volume (LDV) management (skinny tables, custom indexes, archiving), SOQL query optimisation, and data migration design.
• Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist required or equivalent experience; deep hands-on experience with QCP (JavaScript quoting processes), MDQ (multi-dimensional quoting), amendment and renewal logic, and ARR categorisation across upsell, cross-sell, churn, migration, and recontracting scenarios.
• Demonstrated experience building AI/LLM integrations directly on the Salesforce platform using Claude API, Gemini API, or equivalent, including agentic workflows and AI-powered automation in production CRM environments; familiarity with Salesforce-native AI capabilities including Agentforce, Einstein Copilot, Prompt Builder, and Einstein Trust Layer.
• Strong Apex, LWC, and Flow development expertise; ability to set and enforce coding standards, perform code reviews, design complex Flow automation (screen flows, Flow Orchestration), and govern the declarative automation layer at scale.
• Experience with Salesforce integration architecture including REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, External Services, and middleware platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft); Zuora and NetSuite integration experience a strong plus; proficiency with Salesforce DevOps (SFDX, CI/CD, Copado, Prodly, or Gearset) and platform governance.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development workflows and leveraging AI tools to improve platform architecture, engineering quality, and delivery speed; strong written and verbal English communication skills for cross-time-zone executive stakeholder engagement.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
