Overview

Job Title: Safety Officer

Qualification: B.Tech / B.Sc / Diploma (in any discipline)

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organisational safety policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Promote a safe work culture by organising safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate and report all incidents/accidents, including near misses, and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance reports as per regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with different departments and project teams to ensure adherence to safety protocols during operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all personnel at the site.
  • Monitor work permits and ensure implementation of safety measures for high-risk activities such as working at height, confined space entry, hot work, etc.
  • Liaise with statutory bodies and represent the company during external safety audits and inspections.
Key Skills Required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, Factory Act, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Good communication and training skills.
  • Experience in managing safety at industrial project sites.
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting tools.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Candidate must hold a valid PDIS certification.
