Job summary

Accenture Cybersecurity is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant-VM to lead vulnerability management and exposure programs for major clients in India. You will shape VM strategy, drive risk-based prioritization, and lead PoCs across on-premises, cloud, and container environments.

You will partner with CISOs and senior leaders to demonstrate measurable risk reduction, and integrate VM with patching, ITSM, and DevSecOps as part of ongoing security transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise vulnerability management programs across hybrid environments.
• Proven ability to lead remediation and risk-based prioritization.
• Strong partnerships with CISOs and senior leadership.
• Hands-on familiarity with ASM/EASM and CTEM concepts.
• Knowledge of patch management and ITSM integrations.

The Practice – A Brief Sketch:

Technology Strategy & Transformation Practice is a part of Accenture Strategy and focuses on our clients’ most strategic priorities. As part of this high-performing team, you will work closely with an ecosystem of partners to help clients move from reactive patching to proactive, risk-based exposure management across the enterprise attack surface. You will work on the following key areas:

• VM Program Design & Strategy: Assess vulnerability management maturity, define target operating models, governance structures, remediation workflows, SLA frameworks, and strategic roadmaps aligned to business objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Risk-Based Prioritization: Design prioritization frameworks that combine CVSS, EPSS, asset criticality, exploitability, and threat intelligence to focus remediation on what matters most.

• Exposure & Attack Surface Management: Build capabilities for Attack Surface Management (ASM / EASM) and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) across on-premise, cloud, container, IoT/OT, and SaaS environments.

• Remediation, Patch & Governance: Drive integration of vulnerability management with patch management, ITSM, and DevSecOps; define SLAs, KPIs, and executive reporting that demonstrate measurable risk reduction.

• Shape vulnerability management and exposure management strategies and value propositions to drive impactful discussions with CISOs, Heads of Security Operations, and senior leadership.

• Demonstrate strong analytical and consulting skills to assess VM maturity and identify gaps across people, process, technology, and governance.

• Capitalize on in-depth understanding of vulnerability and exposure management frameworks, risk-based prioritization, and modern attack surface concepts.

• Lead proof of concept and / or pilot implementations of VM, ASM / EASM, and CTEM solutions and define the plan to scale across the enterprise.

• Maximize subject matter expertise on vulnerability and exposure management engagements and play a key role in RFP responses.

• Contribute to presenting vulnerability management strategy to clients and help develop the client's maturity in moving from compliance-driven scanning to risk-led exposure management.

• Demonstrate ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

• Use knowledge of key value drivers of a business, and how they impact the scope and approach of the engagement.

• Bachelors Degree required; An MBA from a Tier-1 institute is preferred.

• Your prior experience across some of the following is important –

• Experience designing, transforming, or operating enterprise vulnerability management programs across infrastructure, applications, cloud, containers, and endpoints.

• Hands‑on familiarity with leading enterprise vulnerability management and exposure assessment platforms across infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, and application layers.

• Working knowledge of risk-based prioritization using CVSS, EPSS, asset context, threat intelligence, and exploit availability (e.g., CISA KEV).

• Experience with Attack Surface Management (ASM / EASM) and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) concepts, and tools such as Microsoft Defender EASM, Palo Alto Cortex Xpanse, and Tenable ASM.

• Familiarity with cloud vulnerability and posture management (CSPM, CNAPP), container / Kubernetes scanning, and Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) including SAST, DAST, and SCA integration.

• Understanding of patch management strategy and integration with ITSM and DevSecOps pipelines.

• Proven track record of engaging senior stakeholders (CISO, CIO, Head of SecOps, Business Leaders) to align VM programs with enterprise risk appetite and digital transformation goals.

• Working knowledge of frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-40, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, RBI, DPDP, and GDPR.

• Practical industry expertise across Financial Services, Telecom, Retail, Life Sciences, Energy, and Industrial / Manufacturing.

• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC (GEVA / GCIH), and vendor certifications (Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7) are preferred.
