Job summary

Amazon ASSPL Karnataka is seeking an RME Coordinator to manage daily maintenance operations for conveyors and supporting systems at our Bengaluru site. You will ensure adherence to PPM/EAM schedules, drive safety and 5S standards, and lead a team of FM agency staff to deliver reliable facility services.

Key job responsibilities
ABOUT RME Coordinator ROLE

As RME Coordinator, your roles and responsibilities will be

  • Ensuring Daily, Weekly, Monthly technical check as per PPM schedule/EAM schedule and documenting the records.
  • Responsible for completion of scheduled/unscheduled/emergency jobs that arise day in and day out and meet customers’ expectations.
  • Attending TT/service calls for corrective maintenance, service and repair works of the site and submit the reports and records as per SOP.
  • Assess the complaints and ensure closure of the same as per defined TAT along with feedback mechanism
  • Contribute to the organization/RME function growth by coming up with various innovative ideas & kaizens and showing ownership in executing them.
  • Co-ordinate with vendor for systems under warranty/AMC and ensuring the planned PM & checks from vendor done.
  • Should be well aware of escalation process & adhere to the same for various issues and works.
  • Ensuring daily records of raw water/electricity/STP/WTP are maintained and stored.
  • Ensuring planned checks of critical equipment done as per plan such as fire protection, UPS, MHE, Transformers,HVAC, DG sets, STP & WTP etc.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical system and record and update the findings & gaps.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and material.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tacks, and encoders.
  • Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner.
  • Refurbishment and upgrade works for building finishes, fixtures, fittings and equipment, fixed furniture and OPS equipment like Trolley, Cages, Carts
  • Following the safety protocols and implementation of safe work permit systems where in-house or external vendors are involved. This include height work, hot work, confined space & electrical permits.
  • Tools inventory update, with the help of EAM tool and ensuring the reordering requests as per set standards.
  • Taking care of Soft services activities i.e. Pest control, Housekeeping, Scrap & Garbage/ waste disposal.
  • Ensuring the planned statutory test/report submission done and reported in the respective tool/portal.
  • Ensuring the building cleanliness & pest control with planned activities.
  • Follow the guidelines and improve further on it, in order to achieve the set targets of OPEX spend
  • Responsible for preparation of RCA for any incidents/breakdowns and sharing the learnings with the team.
  • Responsible for SOP adherence.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance (Conveyors, workstations, Labeling Machines, PLC control systems, electrical systems, trolleys etc.)
  • Responsible to give timely feedback/inputs to FM agency team members and enhance their skill level and understanding.
  • Ensure the contractors/vendors follow the rules at all times and the projects are handled with minimum inconvenience to the site operations.
  • Responsible for follow up of material purchasing with the Procurement Team/OEM or supplier.
  • Responsible for updation of spares part consumption in portal and ensuring reorder request as per the set guidelines.
  • Manage day-to-day issues on equipment and prioritize the works as per plan.
  • Responsible to managing shift FM agency team in maintaining the equipment and the soft services. Define goals, priorities, organized staff planning, staff training to ensure service levels.
  • Training FM agency both technical and soft services for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.
  • Responsible to keep people working in a safe environment, applying the Amazon Safety Policy and working with the Safety team to improve safety on site.
  • Responsible for building housekeeping to keep the site within 5S standards by managing a diverse team and ensure all the standards are followed.
  • Responsible for maintaining, following, upgrading and storing of relevant documents for RME function.
  • Be a leader within the group as well as within other teams.
  • Be positive and offer creative out of the box solutions.
  • Provide immediate technical guidance to operations during critical events.
A day in the life
  • Morning shift handover and equipment status review
  • Walk the floor to inspect critical systems (conveyors, fire protection, UPS)
  • Respond to trouble tickets and prioritize corrective maintenance
  • Coordinate with vendors and FM teams on ongoing work orders
  • Update maintenance logs in APM portal
  • End-of-day reporting and next-shift briefing

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation and Controls

  • 1+ years of conveyors/automation/control systems maintenance experience
