Role Overview

As a Retail Growth Manager you will act as the business owner for Same Store Growth (SSG) and the strategic driver for early‑stage scale‑up of the COCO vertical. This is a high‑visibility, impact‑heavy role responsible for unlocking growth across COCO stores through structured problem solving, cross‑functional leadership, financial analysis, and on‑ground execution excellence. The role requires a uniquely blended profile: strategy + analytics + field execution + retail understanding.

Key Responsibilities
A. Same Store Growth (Core Focus - ~70%)
  • Diagnose store performance using data
  • Build and execute growth strategies across assortment, pricing, promotions, and customer experience
  • Identify structural issues (supply chain, manpower, layout, process leakages) and drive solutions
  • Partner with category teams to optimize assortment depth, width, and profitability
  • Lead VM improvement initiatives and ensure brand consistency across stores
  • Build and run weekly performance reviews, target‑setting, and improvement plans
  • Develop and automate store‑level dashboards for visibility and accountability
  • Drive shrinkage reduction and improve inventory accuracy with the audits team
  • Train store teams on sales levers, customer experience, and operational excellence
B. New Store Growth Support (Secondary - ~30%)
  • Participate in feasibility studies for new store locations (ROI modelling, break‑even, demographics)
  • Work with NSG team on launch readiness, assortment selection, planograms, VM, and GTM
  • Lead the first 90‑day performance ramp‑up for every new COCO store
  • Transition new stores to steady‑state operations in collaboration with Cluster Ops Manager
C. Strategic, Analytical & Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with category, marketing, supply chain, HR, finance, and audit teams to align store‑level plans
  • Own COCO dashboards, MIS, and initiative tracking sheets
  • Build business cases for investments (store upgrades, assortment expansions, VM improvements)
  • Conduct structured problem solving using frameworks to address growth challenges
  • Present performance reviews, insights, and strategic recommendations to COCO leadership
What You ll Need:
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actions
  • Structured problem‑solving and business‑first thinking
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management
  • High ownership, resilience, and willingness to work in fast‑paced field environments
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Understanding of retail P&L drivers (pricing, assortment, supply chain, VM, shrinkage, manpower)
What we are looking for
  • MBA from a reputed institute
  • 2-4 years of experience in:
  • Retail strategy / operations
  • Category management / merchandising
  • Consulting (consumer/retail focus ideal)
  • D2C / e‑commerce / supply chain analytics roles
  • Strong comfort with analytics tools (Excel, Sheets, dashboards; SQL optional but a plus)
  • Must be willing to travel 40-60% to COCO stores
