Key Responsibilities (R&D + QC + Product Development)
R&D Formulation & Development
- Develop new coolant formulations (OAT, HOAT, Hybrid, Glycol-based, Water-based) to meet OEM specifications.
- Formulate wide-range lubricants, including hydraulic, gear, engine, compressor, transformer, and cutting oils.
- Work on grease technologies such as lithium, lithium complex, calcium, calcium sulfonate, and polyurea greases.
- Conduct performance studies including oxidation, wear, thermal stability, corrosion resistance, etc.
- Evaluate additive packages, corrosion inhibitors, antifoam agents, dyes, dispersants, and performance boosters.
Quality Control & Product Testing
- Perform batch‑wise QC testing and random sampling as per ASTM / IS standards.
- Perform comparative studies against competitor samples.
- Troubleshoot field complaints such as wear, oxidation, sludge, viscosity breakdown, corrosion, drop‑out, gel formation.
- Maintain accurate COAs, SOPs, lab reports, and audit documentation.
Production & Process Support
- Collaborate with production teams during scale‑up, batch adjustments, and quality improvements.
- Conduct raw material evaluation and validate supplier quality.
- Support cost optimization and formulation improvement projects.
Benchmarking & Market Analysis
- Conduct competitor benchmarking for coolant, lubricant, and grease products.
- Work on formulation enhancements to improve product performance, stability, cost‑efficiency, and compliance.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Detail-oriented and technically strong R&D Chemist / QC Chemist with experience in coolants, lubricants, and grease chemistry.
- Strong understanding of base oils, additives, corrosion inhibitors, thickener systems, glycol chemistry, and synthetic fluids.
- Hands‑on experience with ASTM, BIS, and OEM standards for automotive fluids.
- Able to handle a wide range of laboratory instruments and glassware equipment independently.
- Should possess analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and documentation precision.
- Capable of working independently and collaborating with production, QA, and management teams.
