Job summary

FYERS seeks an Institutional Research Analyst in Mumbai to generate high-conviction ideas for institutional clients. You will work with CIOs, fund managers and research teams to deliver differentiated insights and timely investment themes.

The role requires 4–8 years in equity/institutional research, strong fundamentals, and excellent communication to engage with senior investment professionals. This is a client-facing, Mumbai-based position.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in Equity Research or Institutional Research.
• Strong experience in fundamental research and mid-cap/large-cap coverage.
• Proven ability to identify actionable and differentiated investment ideas.
• Ability to develop and articulate a clear investment thesis to sophisticated institutional investors.
• Experience interacting with CIOs, Fund Managers and Research Analysts, preferably across Domestic Mutual Funds.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to defend research views.

We are looking for an Institutional Research Analyst with strong fundamental research capabilities and a keen understanding of mid cap & large cap companies and key sectors. The role will focus on generating high conviction, actionable investment ideas for institutional clients, developing differentiated insights through company and industry research, and engaging directly with senior investment professionals at Domestic Mutual Funds.

You will work closely with CIOs, Fund Managers, Research Analysts, Institutional Sales and Dealing teams, making this a highly client facing role where your research views can directly influence investment conversations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research across mid- and large-cap companies, with a strong understanding of sector dynamics, industry trends, and broader market developments.
• Identify and develop actionable, high-conviction stock ideas for institutional investors.
• Build detailed investment theses covering business fundamentals, earnings outlook, valuation, catalysts and key risks.
• Track company developments, industry trends, competitive dynamics and regulatory changes to identify emerging opportunities.
• Participate in management meetings, analyst interactions, earnings calls and industry discussions.
• Engage directly with CIOs, Fund Managers and Research Analysts at Domestic Mutual Funds to discuss stock ideas, portfolio views and investment themes.
• Understand client portfolios and investment preferences and provide relevant, customized research insights.
• Publish timely quarterly result updates, company updates, earnings reviews, sector notes and thematic research.
• Work closely with Institutional Sales and Dealing teams to understand client requirements and deliver relevant research support. Collaborate with Sales to strengthen institutional client engagement through quality research and differentiated investment ideas.
• Ensure research is accurate, well-supported, timely and compliant with applicable regulatory and internal guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

• 4–8 years of experience in Equity Research, Institutional Research or Institutional Broking.
• Strong experience in fundamental research and mid-cap/ large-cap coverage.
• Proven ability to identify actionable and differentiated investment ideas.
• Ability to develop and articulate a clear investment thesis to sophisticated institutional investors.
• Experience interacting with CIOs, Fund Managers and Research Analysts, preferably across Domestic Mutual Funds.
• Strong ability to engage with company management and extract meaningful business insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently defend research views.
• Ability to work effectively with Sales, Dealing and other internal teams.
