This role involves active community engagement, maintaining professional relationships with sources, and adhering to ethical journalism standards.

Qualifications

• Strong reporting skills, including interviewing, fact-gathering, and news research
• Excellent written communication and news writing abilities
• Ability to work with multimedia formats such as photos, video, and digital platforms
• Effective verbal communication and collaboration skills within editorial teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics, media law basics, and accuracy in reporting
• Familiarity with digital publishing tools, social media, and content management systems
