Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Release Train Engineer for Clinical Design and Analysis to lead ART events, coach teams, and ensure alignment with program vision.

You will facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect & Adapt, manage risks and dependencies, and drive continuous improvement across teams in a highly regulated environment.

This role requires SAFe expertise, strong collaboration, and experience with Jira/Confluence; evening/night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 12–16 years of experience in IT or related domain.
• Experience with SAFe and Agile at scale.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

The Release Train Engineer– Clinical Design and Analysisis a leader and coach whofacilitatesART events,processes,andsupports teams in delivering value.The role involvesfacilitatingcommunication and collaboration among teams, ensuring alignment with theprogramvision, managing risks and dependencies,and driving relentless improvement.They also oftenparticipatein the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masterin the new mindset and processes. They help adaptSAFeto the organization’s needs,standardizingand documenting practices

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage product delivery using agile frameworks and techniques. Align with Agile values such as prioritizing individuals and interactions over processes and tools.

• Lead andfacilitateagileeventsincluding stand-ups, sprint/PIplanning, sprint/PIreviews, retrospectives,demosand backlog refinement meetings to promote team collaboration.

• AdviseSAFeevents, including PI Planning,Scrum ofScrums, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams toidentifybusiness requirements and develop solutions that meet customer needs.

• Work with Product Owners, Product and Solution Management, and stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment

• Help the scrum teams achieve delivery acceleration focused on business outcomes by reaching higher levels of scrum maturity

• Identify, elevate, and manage risks and dependencies acrossART toensurethatthey are addressedin a timely manner

• Coordinate with Services and support to schedule resolution of issues with released products

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within theARTby leading retrospectives and encouraging innovation

• Monitor and report on the progress of theART, ensuring transparency and alignment with solution objectives

• Lead andfacilitate the PI planning event and ensure strategic and organizational readiness, leadership teampreparednessandlogisticsmanagement for planning readiness

• Manage andoptimizethe flow of value through the Agile Release Train using various tools, such as Program Kanban and other information radiators

• Lead andfacilitateagileeventsand events such asProgram Increment (PI) planning,pre and post PI Planning, Solution demos,anditeration planning,toensurealignment and collaboration across teams

• Provide guidance and support to RTEs, Scrum Masters, and Product Management teams to help them deliver valueeffectively and adhere to Agile best practices

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 12 - 16 years of experience inComputer Science, Business, Engineering,ITor relatedfieldOR

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• Prior experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira,Confluenceand Jira Align

• Experience in guiding teams through Agileeventsand ensuring adherence toSAFepracticesand behaviors

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challengeswith data

• Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to work seamlessly in a cross-functional team

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Deep understanding of DevOps and Test Automation Processes in software delivery

• Workshop facilitationand training experience

• PriorExperienceinPharmaceutical Industry andClinical Domain

Professional Certifications:

• CertifiedSAFeRTE or similar

• CertifiedSAFeScrum Master or similar (preferred)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent people and project management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

Shift Information:

This position requires you to work a later shift and may beassigneda second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, asrequiredbased on business requirements.
