Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field; Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or Government Affairs within agriculture/seed industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian seed regulations, PPV&FR, seed licensing, import/export regulations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience liaising with government authorities and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and represent the organization with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory and government affairs for the seed business in India.
  • Manage plant variety registrations, new product registrations, seed license applications and renewals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate approvals for seed import/export, DSIR, NBA, and other statutory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation, approvals, and compliance records.
  • Build relationships with government authorities, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct internal training on regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Support regional regulatory initiatives and IP protection across Asia.
  • Represent East-West Seed India in government consultations and policy advocacy initiatives.

Job description

East-West Seed India is seeking a dynamic Regulatory Affairs Manager to lead regulatory and government affairs for its seed business in India. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with seed-related regulations, managing regulatory approvals, supporting policy advocacy, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory and government affairs related to the seed business in India.
  • Manage plant variety registrations, new product registrations, seed license applications and renewals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate approvals related to seed import/export, DSIR, NBA, and other statutory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation, approvals, and compliance records.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with government authorities, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct internal training and awareness sessions on regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Support regional regulatory initiatives, seed movement compliance, access and benefit sharing, and intellectual property protection across Asia.
  • Represent East-West Seed India in government consultations, industry forums, and policy advocacy initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field; Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Government Affairs, or a similar role within the agriculture/seed industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian seed regulations, plant variety protection (PPV&FR), seed licensing, import/export regulations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in liaising with government authorities and regulatory agencies.
