As a modern, national facility with state‑of‑the‑art clinical services and specialist teams, we help ensure patients across Scotland receive timely, safe and effective treatment.

We are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our Eye Centre Team, offering an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering exceptional care to patients accessing specialist ophthalmology services.

The Eye Centre provides outpatient, theatre and pre/post-operative services and plays an important role in supporting patients throughout their ophthalmology journey.

About The Role

As part of the Eye Centre team, you will work within a multidisciplinary environment to provide high standards of care to patients undergoing assessment, treatment and surgery for ophthalmic conditions. You will act as a patient advocate, ensuring care is delivered safely, effectively and with dignity throughout the patient journey.

The Eye Centre is a bespoke, purpose built centre, integrating Ophthalmology Out-Patient Clinics, Pre & post Op areas and Ophthalmology Theatres. The unit aims to ensure a high level of quality and provision of elective Cataract services to meet the demands of an aging population.

About You

The post holder should possess a caring and compassionate demeanor towards patients and staff, good communication skills, and display a “Can Do” attitude. The post holder must be able to priorities conflicting demands to deliver patient and service needs.

You will be organised and proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing service demands while maintaining a high standard of patient care. You will have a commitment to continuous professional development and a genuine passion for supporting patients throughout their ophthalmology treatment journey.

The Eye Centre Clinical Education and Nurse Management Team will support the successful candidate to achieve all aspects of the role requirements.

We are looking for a Registered Adult Nurse with a First Level nursing degree (or equivalent). Ophthalmology theatre and/or clinic experience is desirable but not essential.
