Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Director, Security Consulting is a leadership role, responsible for leading and growing the organization’s security consulting practice.

This role involves providing strategic direction, managing teams of security consultants, and working closely with internal and external clients to deliver comprehensive security solutions and services.

This leadership role is responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture across the consulting team(s) within their remit.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive vision and strategy for the security consulting practice in alignment with the company's overall cybersecurity objectives and market trends.
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to shape the direction of the consulting team and services.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external clients, understanding their unique security needs and challenges, and tailoring consulting solutions to address those requirements effectively.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on security architecture, risk management, compliance, and incident response strategies.
  • Leads and mentors a team, providing direction, guidance, and coaching to enhance their technical skills, client engagement capabilities, and overall performance.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team, ensuring optimal collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversees the successful delivery of security consulting projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Directs and participates in the development of security assessments, penetration testing, security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
  • Drives business development efforts, including identifying and pursuing new client opportunities, crafting proposals, and participating in client presentations to expand the consulting portfolio and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to develop marketing strategies, thought leadership content, and promotional activities to enhance the company's brand and visibility in the cybersecurity consulting space.
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders within the organization to ensure seamless integration of security consulting services with other product offerings and initiatives.
  • Coordinates with internal teams such as research and development, legal, compliance, and sales to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors and enforces quality assurance standards and compliance measures to ensure that security consulting services meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Provides regular reporting on the performance of the security consulting practice, including financial metrics, project statuses, key performance indicators, and client satisfaction feedback.
To thrive in this role, you need to have:
  • Excellent understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, threats, and best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of the technology industry, including trends, emerging technologies, and their potential impact on cybersecurity.
  • Good understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks affecting the technology sector.
  • Excellent ability to assess and manage cybersecurity risks at both organizational and project levels.
  • Good knowledge of security frameworks and standards like NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS, etc.
  • Excellent ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligning security consulting with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong client engagement skills to build and maintain relationships, understand client needs, and exceed expectations.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects and programs concurrently, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent ability to think creatively and devise innovative security solutions and strategies to address evolving threats.
  • Capacity to adapt to a rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape and bounce back from setbacks.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a strong culture of integrity within the organization.

Academic qualifications and certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
  • Industry relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GSEC or CompTIA Security+ essential.
Required experience:
  • Significant demonstrated experience in the cybersecurity field, specifically in security consulting.
  • Significant demonstrated experience in advising clients on security strategies, risk management, compliance, and incident response in complex technology environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams, as well as overseeing multiple client engagements concurrently.
  • Significant demonstrated experience in developing and delivering customized security solutions, strong understanding of emerging technologies and threats, and the ability to work closely with C-suite executives to align security initiatives with organizational goals.
