Credila Financial Services Limited is India's largest education-focused NBFC. We seek a Regional Credit Manager to oversee Credit Managers at the location, lead underwriting decisions, and manage portfolio quality.

You will design credit policies, drive automation and AI initiatives, and partner with business heads to grow the portfolio while controlling risk, with emphasis on customer experience and compliance.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of related work experience in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of retail education loans, LAP, or PL products.
• Excellent communication in English and a regional language.
• Proven leadership and risk management capabilities.
• Experience in underwriting and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Credit Managers at the location and own underwriting decisions.
• Develop underwriting policies, processes, and risk controls.

• Maintain portfolio health and monitor NPAs.

Job Description

The Regional Credit Manager has a critical role in managing Credit Managers at the location. The incumbent will lead Credit underwriting and Portfolio quality management and will be responsible for all Underwriting decisions, approvals, deviations and exception management at the location.

Key roles and responsibilities

Strategy

• Work with the Chief Credit Officer in planning Credit Underwriting vision along with creating credit and underwriting policies & processes
• Work with the Chief Credit Officer in conceiving and executing automation and AI projects related to Credit Underwriting processes
• Partner with business heads to develop a growth strategy for the company with emphasis on maintaining a healthy portfolio and minimal stress accounts/NPAs

Maintaining Credit Quality

• Managing respective vendors for maintaining quality and TAT for all verification and validation
• Monitoring and doing consistent sample checks on verification and vendor processes
• Screening borrower profiles for maintaining the input quality of credit system.

Implementation of risk management tools, Initiate processes Improvement and Impart training

• Adherence to credit decisioning parameters as per Credit Policy on loan proposals
• Initiate new product and policy amendments based on local market experience.
• Initiate and Implement process improvements for better customer experience while maintaining the organization’s risk appetite.
• Deliver structured training regularly to both internal teams and business associates.

Relationship Management, Customer Service and Team Management

• Manage end to end credit approval process within agreed turnaround times (TATs) and be responsible for all underwriting decisions, approvals, deviations and exceptions for the location
• Collaborate with recoveries and analytics teams to generate business insights to improve the credit appraisal process
• Identify and mitigate risk through regular portfolio monitoring and take timely decisions on exposure levels, collateral etc.
• Effectively manage the location credit team and guide team members to take credit risk decisions aligned with the company’s risk appetite
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and that all employees are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles

Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all relevant credit policies and procedures

Identify, analyze and propose mitigation measures for various risks applicable to the credit function at the location

Skills

• Extensive Knowledge of retail loans preferably Education Loans, LAP or PL products
• Hands-on experience of Credit Underwriting, Credit verification processes, People management skills.
• Excellent communications abilities in English and any regional language
• Servicing ability in terms of processing TAT (Turnaround Time) and relationship management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, Team player and Motivator

• Chartered Account, Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA Finance
